Was that for me? You are welcome :D

I enjoy making graphics  I have made a few minor changes to it again LOL. I noticed that the balloons were blocking the hearts, so I removed one set of balloons (there were two), and also moved the girl and balloons over a fraction to the right. This is the sixth incarnation of this welcome graphic now; I felt the font was too large on the previous ones, and crowded the unicorn a bit. I also added some more detail behind the unicorn, and put a small outline around it as well as making the eye more noticeable than the previous ones, and reversed the direction of the rainbow. The butterflies flutter around, too :D I have made other welcome graphics in the last few months, also, but I like switching it up :)

Helpful hint : if you use the Reply With Quote option,
others will know whom and what you are addressing :)

Thank you :) It is a pass time for me, and creative outlet. I source the elements from sites that offer them for free for people to use for whatever they want, as long as it is not commercial. Then I build the image starting with a frame (sometimes I make my own). For instance, the frame for that particular graphic started out looking like this:

That is a shrunken version of it :) Some elements start out quite large, so I have to adjust the size of every element to the proper dimensions for my graphic. I also like purple things, which you may have noticed, and so I changed the frame to this, by altering the hue:

Then I start adding other things to it that I have collected, after spending hours on various sites at different times, sifting through hundreds and even thousands of images to find ones that suit my tastes, and that I think I may be able to use in some project such as the welcome message.

The central part is actually transparent to begin with, so I usually add a background (the one for this image is very subtle), and then begin layering other transparent elements onto the background. Below is the second incarnation of the same welcome message. The flowers are not in the corners, and there are flower bars which I later removed, plus the unicorn is quite small, and though the same style, not the same one.

Then I changed it to this, moving the solitary flowers to the corners, and removing the flower bars:

#3 ^^ The unicorn is larger, there are more butterflies, and my "love magenta" is smaller :)

There is also a ribbon hanging down one side.

Here it is with the current Unicorn, with flowers under the hooves. #4 ^^
I removed part of the corner of the frame so it would not block any part of the Uni :)
The font is too large :( I also thought it might look better with the rainbow reversed,
so I did that too, and added some twiggy things behind the Unicorn. I noticed the
balloons in number five were blocking the hearts, so of course I had to change that.
The girl had started out by holding a ticket or something, which I erased. She'd
also had some gaudy bow in her hair, which I also erased and then hid with a flower.

The cat looks a little like my very own :D

I like making templates to use for things like adding Scripture or
other messages to for fellow members. Here are a couple of those:

That was a lot to tell you all at once :eek: Thanks for listening :)

Magenta, I am glad there are people like you who enjoy doing things like that. I can design and build a computer controlled mechanical system, but I have no inclination or interest in spending so much time creating beautiful graphics. I am glad you do. Thank you for sharing your art and creativity with us.

Thank you, Earnest, and you are welcome! What type of mechanical systems have you built?

I realize my artistic style is not to everybody's tastes, plus the fact that I make everything so purple may also put some people off LOL. It's funny, too, because near to the beginning of February I saved a whole bunch of fairy images, while wondering at the same time, what in the world I was ever going to do with them, because fairies and Christianity do not really seem to mix, but then I did some Valentine projects, and they were perfect for that :D

So I collect things not knowing what I am going to do with them, and then find a use for them, or not. Some elements I use again and again. Others I have tried using in various projects, sizing, positioning, altering this way and that, and then remove them from the image in progress in favor of something else, or even nothing.

When I start an image, I do not have a fixed idea of the outcome. I look through the various elements I have collected, and select a few to start with, always beginning with the frame and borders. The idea is often to make a template I can use again and again for various purposes, that being determined by what I may see going on in a particular thread. Sometimes one of the biggest challenges for me is leaving enough space in my creation for the amount of text that may be required, and then selecting, sizing, and positioning the font :D That last part can get really persnickety :p

I have put some of my creations on my poetry thread

What type of mechanical systems have you built?
Control systems (GUI and non-GUI) for computer controlled chiropractic tables. :)

I enjoy it very much.
