as far as kitchen items...my teapot (for making coffee AND tea), a hodge podge cookware collection of 2 pots and a pan, one really sharp knife, a plantain press, a grater, and a veggie peeler. I truly enjoy cooking, I really do, but it's difficult to justify buying kitchen gadgets. I HAVE had my eye on a basic enameled cast iron set for quite a while, but I'm getting by just fine without it.
household/power tools....just a hammer. anytime i need a tool, i borrow one from my apartment's maintenance staff or ask a friend.
my 'life changing' gadget...my roomba. i can tap it with my foot on the way out of the door in the morning and come home to freshly vacuumed/swept floors. I dont have to scrub the floor more than once or twice a month, and i LOVE not having to manually run a vacuum over my rugs..it goes under my bed, under my couch, everything.
If someone can invent a robot that will put away laundry and do dry cleaning, i will be the first in line to sign up.
