Dexter is very good but incredibly dark. I haven't seen Season 6 yet but Seasons 2 and 4 were incredible.
Won't disagree. It is not recommended to do a marathon on Dexter. May end up sleeping in nightmares (as I did once and learnt my lesson well :p). Still love the script though. I have so many not-dark quotes that got stuck on my mind, e.g. "Never lie to the one you trust, and never trust the one who lies to you."

Dexter's my favorite show. I've seen every episode and believe me, it never gets old or boring. Strangely enough it didn't give me nightmares like some other shows have. I think its because Dexter is really a good guy not a bad guy. :)

I've never gotten bored of Dexter, either! I haven't kept up with this season (which is why I'm iffy on it, I haven't been able to watch it!) but I know in previous seasons there were many a time when my jaw just dropped and I'd keep saying, "No! What??...No. ...WHAT?" :D My brother always enjoyed watching the first few seasons of 24 with me because he would just laugh at my reactions. I tend to verbalize them.

I like my sitcoms/lighthearted shows, but I love shows that have twists and "No way!" moments. :)

I'm a bit squeamish with blood so I really liked it when Dexter was almost found out (Season 2) and so he had to lay off the killings for quite awhile. I love the psychology behind it but they could scale back the graphic content. That said, the series does illustrate well that the wages of sin is death and that those who live by the sword, die by it.

Actually, season 2 was really the most graphic one, if that's the one with the Ice Truck Killer in it.

Haha, yea Ice Truck Killer is Season 1. Season 2 is the Bay Harbor Butcher (aka Dexter). I'm not really into gory movies, but Tintin was right, Dexter is really more about the psychology behind it. And yes Rachel! I love the twists and the, WHAT???? moments. Also the freshness like when I was watching it so seriously and suddenly there's one witty line that cracked me up so badly.

And yes ZT, agree with you that we can accept Dexter because he's a good guy. C'mon, he's a victim of childhood trauma!

Dexter is a good show indeed, but I haven't kept up with it.

I watch The Walking Dead, Big Bang Theory, Once Upon a Time, reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Office, Monday Mornings, The Bachelor (it's SOOOOOOO funny to watch the crazy girls!), and that's basically it. Oh! And occasionally Conan.

Ohh you must catch up with Dexter if you can. Some important stuff happens in the last several episodes. :)
