The Millennials are the first generation to have never known a world without social media, and as social media has become more pervasive people are becoming more self centered and narcissistic. The irony is that as people perceive themselves to be more connected through Facebook, etc. they in reality are less connected than they ever have been before. Millennials (IMO) are by far more concerned with their image on social media than they are about actually developing tight knit interpersonal relationships.

I can hardly believe that only 20 years ago the majority of the population communicated face to face rather than texting. It makes me sad that today we're expected to be available 24/7 for anyone at anytime via cell phones. :(

Don't let it stress you out. It's not our job to stop the world from sinning. If it's another Christian, it's your obligation to call them out on it, but if the person isn't a Christian, why not let then fornicate as they see fit?

The impression I get when someone, male or female, leave their underwear on the bathroom floor is that they either 1) want to hook up or 2) want a casual sexual encounter.

Did I miss something? What is the difference? Isn't that what 'hook up' means today -- a casual sexual encounter? Or, do you mean 'casual sexual encounter' to be something "less" than 'full-blown' sexual intercourse?

:)

Although millennials didn't invent casual sex, you could argue that they perfected it as a means of the PREFERRED social interaction of men and women in their 20s. It's a problem that even completely irreligious sociologists are noticing...not in a good way. There are lots of important things about relationships that 20-somethings are missing out on because of the whole "hook up" culture. The end result is that while they might excel in seduction and short-lived pleasure, they lack skills in building and sustaining relationships. If you thought the divorce rates of Boomers and Xers were bad...let's talk about the never-married rates of millennials. They have no incentive to marry. You don't need to be married to experience fulfillment (and let's be honest, it probably won't last). You don't need to marry for practical purposes. You don't even need to marry for the health and well-being of children (they've been told. Plus, they've lived it. You know how most people will take the most horrific events of their childhood and shrug them off with, "And I turned out okay"). What the "hook up" culture is creating for millennials is basically the post-marital age.
