Okay so I looked up the definition of Occult and and its def is far more expansive than I thought supernatural, mysticism, necromancy, Witchcraft, Sorcery, magical powers etc. Its incredibly broad and can easily cover almost any anime, book, video game (and even some of my own books and comics) that I have interest in.....sooo I guess the question is whats the biblical term of it and what are (if they are any) exceptions...because I am at a point where I am losing sanity fast and I literally cant do anything (Including reading the Bible) without going insane. If its the same definition and so incredibly broad I literally have no hobbies
If you focus on who you are in Christ, who you were made to be rather than focusing on trying to do this, or not trying to do that you will find rest. Walking on eggshells will burn you out. Man teaches you what to do... Christ mostly focuses on who you need to be. From states of being you will naturally begin to do or not to do/ partake in certain things. In my honest opinion you are doing way too much when you need to just simply "Be".

As for being bored and losing sanity, you might not know this but the root word for entertain means " to hold together/ support" and the word "ment" means mind (a very old-school word that has had its definition changed for specific reasons)(if you wanna see something funny ask a Spanish speaking person to say the word "mind" for you in Spanish.) (the English language is deceptive and filled with blatant curses and snares if you were to sit down and break some words down to their roots... )

But anyways, the real question is what mind is wanting to be supported/ held together?.. It could be the old man's mind, that old way of thinking. We are called to be renewed in the spirit of our minds.

I have a different approach you could try if you must "do" something. How about using entertainment to support and renew your mind to who you are in Christ. You say you like to draw comics, make them about who you are in Christ, and who He says that you are. You like to make card games? Make card games about it. Make your own content based on what Christ says you are in Him. Listen to music that affirms this belief as well. Watch videos and testimony of Christ. Also ignore other content, and anything that would cause you to deviate from your identity in Him. Dumb things down, make them ridiculously simple to what He says it is, and don't seek to add anything else. Over complication is counterproductive. Avoid others interpretations of what Christ says, and only focus on what He says means to you. People talk way too much, and they get in the way of the pure simple gospel.

Get into the word, make it a lifestyle. Be who Christ says you are. Affirm what He says by just living it, and from that identity you will begin to change your habits and hobbies. To just go about trying to change them without focusing that identity in Him first is nothing
more than behavior modification.

Well I disagree with choosing the lesser of two evils approach. Pragmatic from a human perspective certainly...That just leads me to a more deistic side of christianity (not deism mind you) and that the Lord just wants us to make right choices and the spirit only marginally leads us into all truth...we are mostly blind and clueless...do the best you can. I've seen many Christians hover here. It disturbs me. Just feels "off"...but everyone is led and refined in different ways I suppose.

That's where that particular thought pattern/lifestyle leads me. Oh only some films are bad. Sure the ones I think are less bad/neutral are still produced in Hollywood and the actors that I'm gladly watching are against christianity and all the values I profess but it's just a movie right? So long as the good guy wins right? I'm rooting for him, I'm doing the right thing. At least I'm not rooting for the bad guy right? Yeah there was a sex scene but I closed my eyes or got up to use the bathroom or fast forwarded, watching the rest is certainly fine...I did the right thing. Yes they took the Lord's name in vain, yes they are swearing...yes they reacted to a particular situation in a manner unworthy of Christ and an image bearer grafted into the vine but they aren't believers...surely there is nothing wrong with my behavior of observing what has been crafted by them for me to watch. Surely not. I'm not supposed to judge those outside the church right? I need a break right? Surely it's not that important.

/end rant.

This is a personal struggle for me. I chose to do a FULL STOP when I recognized the conviction that you are feeling. There are other avenues available. I just went on a walk when things got too intense...I was actually super tired, fell asleep, was angry when I woke up 90 minutes later at 10:30 and laid there for an hour just angry at the Lord ultimately in a Job headspace and then eventually I read a bit of scripture (I had been looking for the why dost thou stand afar off psalm for a few days but I don't look things up sometimes and "if I find it I find it if he so chooses") and that's what I flipped right to. Things just felt "dead" so I go a walking and everything opened up...I find peace about a lot of things and it's an amazing change. I didn't expect it to, but just was going to take my own advice and do it...go get some food and a drink from the gas station.

Does that bring me any closer to the Lord? I don't know. I DO know that he doesn't make it easy for some people. It's easy in a way, in that when I reach my end I can rest in him...but first I have to reach my end :p

Can I get frustrated or doubtful of why it works that way for me? Indeed and it so happens that every day builds on each other in such a fashion and I'm so incredibly different than a year ago or 10. Perhaps that's "sanctification"...indeed possible.

I realize this is all a bit vague but there is something to be said for the neutral starting ground as best we know how. I would encourage you to get into some church activities. You'd be amazed how out of balance things can get when you "forsake the assembly" in person. I personally didn't understand why he couldn't just "meet me where I am" or "give me an answer" and then when I just went with what I felt and went to church...lo and behold the weight lifts. Have had personal conversations that just speak to me in a way that I can feel the emotion, see the connection, resonate with that are very different than the internet. Similar in that I believe the spirit can work however he chooses but it's in person isn't something to neglect.

This is all in personal experience based off my own personal convictions/walk.

Someone may of already suggested this but just in case...

I thought of Pilgrims Progress and the Narnia books as I read your post.

You could base your images on characters in scripture. Make the outcome hidden in imagery. You already have the gift.
