You are right about the lazy getting a free ride but if management is even half-way decent they will eventually get their ticket punched and shown to the door. Actually, I'm in the workplace 4 or 5 days a week. It bugs the hell out of me that I have to work harder because of basically lazy and clueless employees. They certainly are not part of my team. If I were in charge I would terminate half of the staff immediately, pay the key personnel more and see dramatic improvements in productivity and quality. Unfortunately, I am just a drone but I do make my opinion known. Just a couple weeks ago a lazy pathetic supervisor was escorted off the property. Of course, it took nine years for the facility manager to get a clue but in the end he did the right thing.
I beg your pardon. I thought you were retired. That’s the thing- you have to find the threshhold- how much can you get away with NOT doing? If you pass the point of no return an NOT do enough- that’s not good.

Most people do the absolute minimum. Why kill yourself for a job that would replace you in a couple of days if you keel over? Goof off as much as possible. There is no sense in stressing out over a job and having a heart attack or stroke about a job, for goodness’ sake.

It really depends on the company... Some companies don't do anything about lazy employees. Other companies won't tolerate lazy employees... I used to work for a company where the owner was always making sure no one was slacking off and he would have these little incentive programs to encourage employees to excel and perform....

I haven't worked in a company that tolerated lazy employees but I've only worked for a handful of companies... But I have known people who did work in companies where lazy employees got away with being lazy and they made everyone else's job harder.
