True. This is why I'm not sure if people were less rude back in the day, or if they were just as rude but simply didn't have the venues of public venting that we do today (internet and cellphones).

I am under the impression that manners are being taught less and less, though perhaps they aren't being taught but not sticking because manners seem to fly out the window on the internet.
also have to define what is rude. granted someone just cussing you out for no reason would be rude. but what about if you and a friend are on the sidewalk talking and wondering where to go get some food and I just happen to hear the convo as I walk by and shout go to Jerry's pizza is good. would that be rude? here no it wouldnt, where you live now? maybe. so rude depends on what place you are at and where you are from.

The Stanford Prison experiment....

Lord of the Flies...

Animal Farm...

People deal with Accountability and Anonymity differently. It takes Empathy and Humanity to deal with strangers humanely and gracefully.

I was going to write more but, I have a friend and he has delivered my thoughts concerning this topic better than I would have.

thing that really annoys me is people consider internet "social media" when in truth it is "anti-social media" and quite frank, the internet, and cell phones are just flat out making people stupid.

I would love to see a massive solar flair just take out the power grid, no internet, no cell phone, no tv. instantly tossed back to 1890. oh how wonderful it would be.
Gahhhhhhh! I think I just had a panic attack. Don't DO that to me, dude.

I actually took the time to listen to the video you posted Liamson LOL !!! (Although his ears kept drawing my attention and why would he do that to himself) :), I found his over all opinions on the subject done well. Just goes to show yet again we can never judge a book by it's cover or by first impressions.

Do we adapt to the ever changing realm of human communication? Yes. AND internet communication? Yes. On the one hand as far as learning to phase your words better (since u may not get the chance to explain in a chat room) or be able to type fast enough or clear enough on a forum. Think before speaking and typing.

But as christians we know God is wanting us to be the same when we are alone in our homes or out in the world. To be consistant in our behavior with people no matter where we communicate. The question is do we as christians do this? Do we take advantage of people just because we can? It's foolish to think God doesn't see us as we type our ideas or get angry at someone while sitting in our living rooms before the computer.

This chat room for instance here on cc has been another good place for me to learn what my true motives are. Am i angry at someone because my pride was hurt? Did i present myself well or poorly? Do i share things just for my own boasting? or to really want to help another person?

cc can be a place where we learn something benifcial and grow in understanding about others and God's Word and how to fellowship with many different people and cultures in the world. Or we can stay the same annoying people we were and just have another outlet to vent our bad behavior .

Just like in face to face life how do we treat people in the store who annoy us? or our neighbors? Our co workers? Or that person in the car who just cut us off at the intersection? It's always going to be our responsibility to show Christ and to be doing what He would do. "

Search me, show me Your ways Lord, guide me in Your truth and teach me. Ps. 25:4-5

"See if there be, some wicked way in me, cleanse me from every sin and set me free"

Sometimes the trollish behaviour of certain people online makes me wanna:
Exterminate them?

"Honour, glory, and riches shall be the reward of your pains; but above all, do not fail to rid the country of those scoundrels, who stir up the people to revolt against us. Such monsters should be exterminated, as I have exterminated Michael Servetus the Spaniard." --John Calvin (1561)

Yeah, when folks have been minding their Christian business in the middle of nowhere, Elmore, Oklahoma, and they go online, like totally, it becomes obvious who are Trolls on psych meds; who are Trolls not taking their meds, and who are Troll desperately needing to be on meds, or committed to a hospital ward.
Ok, people from Elmore, Oklahoma, I hope this little exchange is enlightening regarding the mixing of trolls and psychiatric medications.

some of you people are getting way too uptight about this thread, especially the term 'bad boy'. take a xanax.
I'm certain those must be for you.
