Off I must strive with wind and wave, battle them both when under the sea.
I feel out the bottom, a foreign land.
In lying still, I am strong in the strife; if I fail in that, they are stronger than I, and wrenching me loose, soon put me to rout.
They wish to capture what I must keep, but I can master them both if my grip holds out and if the rocks bring succor and lend support, strength in the struggle.

No, you are a Ruby! But that's not the answer to my riddle. 
If you get the answer right, Skeeter the Greasy penguin has offered to buy you a Hawaiian pizza at the Antarctic Pizza Place, with extra pineapple. Unfortunately I won't be able to introduce you, but I'll provide some recycled car-tyre lip gloss, to reduce disappointment.

Congratulations, Ruby. But unfortunately, Skeeter insists on the lips gloss, also.
Oh - do not be afraid. Skeeter the greasy penguin has not had his rabies shots, but he never used the lip gloss previously - at least, not on his beak. I doubt you will get rabies from using it (but this cannot be taken as medical advice).
