Absolute confidence in God demands of us an unfailing knowledge of the presence of the living God in our lives. It's the only way to deal with worry and fear. As we choose to spend time with the Lord and build our spirits up in His Word, peace comes! Meditating on what the Word says, and how much God loves and cares for us, causes that peace to remain as it becomes rooted into our souls. The Word of God we choose to believe and live by, becomes an anchor, refusing to let our minds drift off course - right back into fear again.
The enemy often shoots his fear filled thoughts, like arrows to assault our minds. In response, we can deliver that final blow to fear, by refusing to entertain those thoughts. Rather, we take them captive and cast them out, replacing them with the truth of God's Word. That's when we confidently declare to the Lord, "In peace, I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.". And did you know, it's impossible to keep this peace to yourself? It shines through you, like an inner glow that is obvious to everyone around you. Your confidence in God which comes from knowing He will take care of you and perfect everything concerning you - because you have set your love on Him and placed your trust in Him - will touch the lives of others, and bless them as they are drawn to the Prince of Peace inside you
