In fact, it's the exact opposite. It's not only fear based & self-dependence, but it's public indiscretion and self-promotion.

that's a lot of speculative accusation to harbor toward a Christian stranger.

The way you apply 'be anxious for nothing' could also be used to say receiving medical help is a failure to trust in God completely. Please understand, trusting in God doesn't mean you must do nothing. There are actions based on anxiety, and actions based on faithfulness. And what a person hears from HS is usually between them and the HS, if you respect the Holy Spirit.

and then trying to justify delving into women's extremely personal affairs in a public place.

What decent man of God would walk up to a group of women he doesn’t even know and start asking them what personal products they use? If anyone had half an ounce of wisdom, they'd know that you could ask any pharmacist about things of that nature or Google it.
it's a forum, where everyone is free to bypass the thread, instead of shouting a man out the door for bringing up basic biology. We all deal with this stuff directly or indirectly, it's part of being human.

Are we really so bored that we have to get offended by this to enjoy our day? Much easier to have a laugh and move on.

Your heart is in the right place, and I agree with you about not shouting someone out the door. You're very compassionate. :)

If I was in a group of women and some strange young man came up to us and started asking what personal products we use because he believes the Holy Spirit told him to start stock-piling stuff, I'd repeat exactly what I said in my previous post.

Because I was not shouting... and I'm not offended.... but I AM a mother & a grandmother and that kind of juvenile nonsense needs to be corrected.

Ember you'd make a great dictator in your pursuit of controlling what can or couldnt be said...

I bet you'd have made a nice fit in Hitlers gestappo. Last post. Last comment. Last time I come looking for help from this place again. So long
Honestly to explain my comment here.....
THIS
Was what I found offensive
Not tampons....
See incase no one knows Hitler was a sadistic creep mass murderer....
Ember just said she wished she was a mod
She did not deserve to be compared to this....

Shall I be called Bin Laden next...because I don't wanna discuss a tampon brand on a Christian Site?
THIS comment I found over the line.....
Not the topic

And it's also a forum where people are free to comment as they feel need be. If you are posting in an open forum then you must be prepared for whatever reaction you trigger. It's a two way street.

My thoughts..... Yes, this is a public forum for people to post as they wish, and to respond as they wish. But what does it really say about any of us if we are not conducting outselves like Christ?

Some of the behavior and comments I have seen is a bit 'rough'.

If this man states that he is being led to do something and chose to reach out for information, that is all we should have really responded to. Not made statesments that he is clearly also stock piling marijuana, or that he is flaunting the fact that he has saved $16,000 and is choosing to use it as God has directed him. (as one person pointed out...God asked Noah to build an Ark...and everyone thought he was certifiable! The use of the money he has saved is between him and God. In no way did I see his post as self-serving in any way.)

Kindness matters. Respectfulness matters. It really is that basic. You do not like it when others treat badly, so do not treat them badly. (or make jokes at their expense...OR relatiate with comments that are equally unkind.)

(stepping off the soapbox now.) :)

Of course he responds with comparing people to Hitler because someone found this to be an inappropriate thread. So yeah.

And granted, some responses are not be good, but the fact still remains, if you put yourself out there you're open for whatever people decide to say. We could lecture about how to respond, but people are imperfect, and CC Clearly shows this. Compared to some things i've seen on this site, or even experienced myself, i'd say he got off easy.

Here are MY thoughts: I highly doubt God wants the OP to spend a good portion of his $16K on feminine hygiene products. He should use it to build houses for poor people, or feed starving children. Something MORE productive than buying thousands of dollars' worth of pads and tampons. :/

If you were truly serious about this you would be clever enough to get this information about women toiletries on your own. I recommend Google.
Can't believe I didn't think of this! Nice work, Tourist.

That is why I included that retaliation is also not good. :)

Justifying any of the behavior by saying he 'got off easy' comparativly (sp?) is not a very strong counter-arguement.

BUT, as I often say, if to noone else, my opinion is important to me. Of course the same should be said for everyone.....but I will stand by my claim that opinions most certainly can and should be stated/given with kindness and respect. (imperfect people or not)

Of course he responds with comparing people to Hitler because someone found this to be an inappropriate thread. So yeah.

NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE.NOPE. NOPE. NOPE.

.....to anything that suggests the Holy Spirit directs us to live in fear. Again I say, NOPE!
