I find politics very important, and it also gets you a could profile of people who claim to be Christian. Obviously if they have a liberal voting record they a) Don't care, b) Live a liberal Christian Life as well, or c) are totally uninformed and voting at the seat of their pants. Of course there's others who are indifferent and don't vote at all, leaving the country to popular liberal demand.
In particular I think you should research all the possible votes and choose the most moral. Usually it's Republican based on the final votes, though I have found much interesting things coming from the Constitution Party e.g. Chuck Baldwin. Sadly they haven't won since the 17th century.
Constitution Party National Political Headquarters -- Party Homepage.
I also keep up with various civil rights groups and the AFA.
Save the Internet | Join the fight for Internet Freedom -- Democratic but good information on internet freedoms we take for granted.
American Family Association -- Great information on marriage laws and religious freedom etc.
ACLU - Privacy, It's About Power -- Info on National ID Card
Electronic Frontier Foundation | Defending Freedom in the Digital World -- Privacy Laws
Campaign For Liberty -- Constitutional rights
I think since the founding of our nation, if we had to fight so long and hard for these rights we should be using them. Politics changes the future, change the future, change the world. That can be good or evil based on popular demand. The least we can do is vote conservatively. This doesn't always mean republican/democratic either. Just vote based on what you know is right, and also research research research.
Important Morals:
1) Life of a child (abortion)
2) Life of the marriage (same-sex marriages destroys families)
3) All else second place, but equally important.
You can get on the issues information at various sources:

Good luck out there, and let's not all play dead and let the country go down hill shall we?
