...when IS a good/right time to talk God in general?
The time is when opportunity knocks and all parties are willing participants to enjoy godly conversations together.

After the football game? Sure, but what would the topic be? Football prayers take the same risk as Abimelech when he died of a broken skull after a woman dropped a millstone on his head? :D

---when all other conversation topics have exhausted themselves.
Nah. When the Lord lives in you, people will either love you because of Him, or will hate you because they hate Him. Any person we come in contact with will know Who is Lord in our heart, not because of what "theology" or "doctrine" we say, but for how we consistently seek the face of God in all holiness.

We don't want to come across as fanatic-without-reason.

God Bless.
:) God bless you too.

I dont know if this is remotely close......I think people panic.....some think there will be a test or exam......lol
It seems some feel unworthy or ill prepared ......feeling the lack against some who seem so much more
knowledgeable in the Word.......I have this friend God has given me.....sometimes I wish I could be as committed
to God as much as she is......after my accident she would come sit with me and visit......funny we are close...
but it seems we never actually sat down and discussed Scripture....I asked her why....we go to chirch...we work together...
help others together.....but never sharing one on one......and she told me this...jo, you just seem so much ahead of me...I feel
dumb when im around you........I just laughed so hard.......you see....I thought the same thing about her......we were
intimidated by an illusion...or our doubt of ourselves....
If thats not it........im gonna have to agree with the snack thing .....hmh....not even a cracker.....
the church...the world...doesn't need to see our competence.

they need to hear our confession.

how many people don't feel comfortable talking to Christians
(including other Christians)
because we don't allow them to see our need? our failures?

oh, to get over myself!
