My cousin remarried her Ex and they remembered why they divorced in the first place, but they made it work because they loved each other and were focused in making it a successful marriage. He passed away several years ago.

Personally for me, I can never remarry my Ex, he's a non believer and too much damage was done, I've forgiven but I cannot forget.

So what do you all think of that? The bible makes comments about your first spouse, and if you remarry another person.

I can't even imagine dating again. It just not on my mind. And even if it were, its too soon.
My ex wife never remarried. We know each other since we were both in our mid teens. We mostly remained friends through the years, but there is a long, long and convoluted history there.
We occasionally talk, don't see each other much as we live 300 miles apart.
Sometimes I think I just want to stay single, because I can't bear the thought of doing it all again, and I have two young girls that are my priority. . Sometimes I think if I were to get married, well why not, maybe my ex then. But then I say, I must be crazy.
And sometimes I think my girls might be better having a woman/mother around, even though we are making out quite all right. A nice little loving Christian family we have. So why upset the dynamics?

Just a word of caution. My brother in law did this before he met my sister. He got back with his ex and divorced again. Then she called one night and, well he ended up with a child out of wedlock. So be careful and be sure this is what you really want in your life.

Well it's a good father indeed who would think about doing something he doesn't even want to imagine doing right now just for the sake of his daughters. But there are plenty of ways for them to get female role models without you remarrying and it will be best for them if you take care of yourself and are realistic about your needs. They'd probably have a hard time loving even the best mom in the world if they could see that having to live with that mom made their dad miserable and stressed.

As to getting back with your ex maybe someday, I wouldn't even consider doing that without long and hard thought about why that person was an ex in the first place and if things had fundamentally changed enough that I wouldn't want them to be an ex again a few years down the road.

It doesn't help that I'm bursting. Spring time only exacerbates it. When I was younger I didn't think people in their mid fifties would still be in that frame. But a terrible reason to engage in anyway with anything...At least God has given me a measure of discipline. Takes prayer and reading the word. Can not do it in your own strength.
