Speaking of chats.... CC chat is pretty cool. The only complaint I have is most people who post in the forums don't go into the chat much at all - and the people in the chat rooms don't come into the forums so I don't know them very well.

There have been a few exceptions. One night a bunch of us forum posters met in the chat room and we even had a DJ who played dance music. It was awesome! I remember Abing was there but I forget who all else came in. We had a fantastic time!!

I wish we could do something like that more often. :)
I can't stand when people go into a chat room and play wanna be DJ, if I wanted to hear music ill turn on the radio

Oh no, it wasn't like that at all. Nobody commandeered the room. We were all chatting about food, life, stuff for a long while... and then toward the end it was suggested about music and we all said, "YEEESSSSSS!!!!" :)

I haven't been in the chat. It would be kinda like reading a book the being disappointed by the movie. In most cases that is.

Was never on!!! Was to busy chatting to every one in person! Still my preferred method!
I prefer to chat in person too! That's why I don't go into the chat rooms.

remember yahoo chat? Funny I had not thought about yahoo chat in several years now until tonight talking with someone I have known for along time. And of course he brought up the old yahoo booter site I used to run back in the day.. well ok I ran it for years until Sept 2010 when I closed it. Of course now yahoo chat is dead officially (course it was dead some years ago before yahoo actually pulled the plug)

Yep I was one of them evil people that made the booter programs that would kick people out of chat. had a website full of yahoo programs, plus many many other things.

Thinking back to 98'ish when I 1st put the site up I never thought it would have gotten as big as it did nor did I ever thought id see the day yahoo would pretty much die. I also didn't think it would have made me quite a bit of money. (seriously at one point it was making me about 5k per month in ads) When I pulled the plug it had about 2 million registered members something like 600,000 downloads and who knows how many forum posts. Thinking about it now it feels like it was decades ago. I will have to see if I can find the CD stack that contained the last backup files. I do remember the site being something like 30 or 40GB in file size and the mysql db backup file was insanely massive.

funny how life changes over the years, and how you forget stuff and then someone will say something that sparks a memory and you remember it all. for about 5 years now I hadn't thought much about it, something that was part of my life for a bit over a decade, strange how our memories work eh? I remember many lulz I had with some of the members also remember in a rush server moves that would cause me to be up 48 hours strait. I guess in all I should have saved all that money instead of just giving pretty much all of it away. hindsight really is 20/20.

Ahhhh memories friend. I was there back when it was still great. Internet conversation is hooooorrible now compared to 98-2000 on y chat. Also, thanks for the booter. I mericlessly annihilated quite a few noobs and it was more than likely with your program :p.

quite possible, many people made programs for yahoo, speaking of people playing music on the mic in a chat room, if I came into a chat and someone was playing music on the mic, the next thing people would hear is, "bling, bling,bl,blb,bl,bl,bl,bling, dingdong, bli, dingdog, bling," thousands of pm messages appearing on the wanna be dj screen..

also remember the time I really boogered up yahoo chat across the board, when I loaded 20,000 bots on voice in 1 chat room.. EVERYONE in that chat room got their yahoo account banned that night. the room lists were frozen for weeks after as well..

That's because evil Canadians are hoarding all the world's maple syrup...
and Americans can't even get through breakfast without getting upset.

I have to agree with you there. If someone is singing I'm all ears - the person who is actually in chat, singing on the mic - but I don't get it when someone just plays the radio at us.

If it's my kind of music I probably already have the song in my collection (and it sound better if I play it because chatroom audio codec is very low quality) and if it's not in my collection it's probably not the kind of music I like.

Muhahaha. I miss the old internet. It was better before anything was really commercial. Before the rise of google, before the online predators and stalkers and all of that crazy stuff. Back when people were still legitimately amazed you could talk to someone across the world and not have to pay a 400 dollar phone bill. How quickly we take things for granted. Especially the way hacking is viewed now vs then. Hacking was simply paying your dues to the internet itself. It was a mandatory part of the experience. Before the financial grid was integrated, it really was a harmless activity for the most part.

My mom met my stepdad through yahoo chat. Years later a decided to check it out, ended up talking to a dude from India which was interesting and then a lady from California. Other then those two people it was mostly bots trying to get me to go to some sketchy websites. no thanks.

I remember AOL chat lol

I attempted the hobby rooms

Except the rooms I always visited....like History...Astronomy...and Art,... always showed one member....lol 'me'!

But I did cancel my yahoo email recently. It acted like an ancient artifact or something lol

It was the only email I had that would freeze up for 5 minutes just to check a silly Pinterest email lol

Lol...I should say forgive me...
I don't even use email for quite sometime now. I know so little about computers.
I shouldn't say Yahoo is an ancient artifact. Lol I haven't emailed for sometime.
I dunno why it would freeze up
But it did lol

Ms. V, been awhile since I seen you in chatroom. If I remember it correctly, it was Harpy playing trance music. I still go there when I'm off work (which is kinda often lol). I had a wonderful prayer time with Chancer and a few others a few days ago. Today I learned how to use the youtube room. >.<

I'm waiting for the iOS app, excited to see the mobile features. I spent most of my CC time in chatroom, started when I was 17ish. Now I can't get into the teens room lol.

Yeah i remember yahoo chat i used to hang around in the goth/emo/metal room, i think it was called "The Graveyard" at the time. I remember using booters too, sometimes when i was bored i would just wait for people to get on mic and boot them off or hit them with a spammer. It was trollish but it still was funny though because they'd stop talking but all you'd hear from them on mic is the sound of like hundreds of emoji sounds going off.

I also remember having and using Limewire and Kazaa at the same time... Man i had so many rootkits and keyloggers on my computer back then it wasn't even funny lol.
