Thank you, I feel blessed. My dream is to marry a man that has that same trait as my dad because I want my children to know to come to him for anything and instead of being judged on a mistake they are loved on and encouraged like I was

sounds like your dad really loves you. I've been thinking about my dad a lot lately. I had a pretty rough childhood because he was really verbally abusive....called me stupid and such things. Thats why I am very direct with people in how I allow them to talk to me.

I identify with this. I 'liked' your post, but that's what I mean by liking it.

That said? I know my dad loved me and I miss him quite a bit rather often. Not the way he was in my childhood, but the relationship we worked on and had for the last 5 years of his life.

I'm sorry that you had to experience that, but we all have our heavenly father to turn to when we need to be loved and encouraged. I know my dad and I don't see eye to eye all the time as he is always wanting me to lose weight, but I am being successful in that area right now, but no matter what I know he loves me and wants me to know how much

You girls are both really great and I appreciate you both very much. My dad and I sort of switched roles after his life fell apart. I sort of became his dad. The thing about him is that he really had a heart of gold but didn't know what to do with all of his personal pain. I miss him. I've reconnected with his best friend from childhood and we have been sharing some really great memories of him.

I recently saw a quote "All daughters want to know they are loved by their fathers"....how true and important. Even though some of us don't have earthly fathers available for us, we all do have our Heavenly Father and no one can love us more than He.
