A guy I was dating had invited me to go snow-mobiling. So, we grabbed both of his snowmobilers and just snowmobiled for a few hours and grabbed hot chocolate afterwards at a local coffee shop.

It was simple. Nothing fancy and it was one of the best dates I've had.

Who said you needs to spend lots of money in order for a date to go well?
Most of the stories I have heard from friends over the years of their "best dates" were the ones where very little money was spent.

Sounds like a great date SYL!

Lovely thread.
Best date ever...hmmm. Was younger than I am now, and on holiday in Canada visiting her parents. It was our first night. We sat out on their deck in the absolute pitch black that you only get on a farm and the northern lights came out for us. We sat arm in arm just being with one another watching the sky work its magic. We kissed (really kissed) for the first time with our feet dangling over the porch while the sky danced above until the mosquitos eventually drove us inside. (Canadian mosquitos are huge! They joke that its their state bird)

We aren't together anymore, but it was still an amazing night.

Hmmm. Kind of weird, but this was my favorite date.

After I graduated from HS, and Trade School, I was working in a Body Shop. And there was a girl a couple of years younger that an old friend used to date, and I always liked her a lot, so I called her friend that I knew and asked for her number.

Called, set up a date. My car broke down that day, so I borrowed my folks' car. We went to a town about a half hour away, better movies and more selection. Saw Return of the Jedi. We had a great time. One time we both were on the same wavelength and totally cracked up over a comment on the movie, that only we knew why we thought it was funny! Then got drinks and drove back toward our hometown. We held hands and arms around each other on the way to the car. It was cold, you know...:) She sat by me on the way home, held hands, we had a real good conversation, lots of fun. I can't describe it, it all seemed so perfect. We seemed like one. When I dropped her off, we hugged and my whole body got hot, and I was in a stupor! It wasn't a sexual reaction....I have no idea what it was, and it freaked her out a bit. Nothing ever felt so right, being around her. She never went out with me again. I called, but she was never around. Whatever happened, it freaked her out.

Has this ever happened to anyone else here? I still enjoyed our night better than any date I've ever been on, and I know she enjoyed it too. I just don't understand, and I guess I never will.
