Hmmm...okay, so our CC teams aren't lookin great so far, Stilly. But, I think I wanna be on a team with the other ladies.

Nod can assume her avatar pose at shortstop and trip people as they come by. It's fun for her and beneficial for us. Win, win, right?

Seoulsearch would look adorable in catcher's gear and I'm thinkin' we could come up with some very creative hand signals together. ;)

Thimsrebma sounds like a lady who could always be counted on in any situation.

And I'm thinkin' not too many folks would want to mess with any of us when we have bats in our hands :)
Cool. Can I be the manager? You know, the slow dimwitted, somewhat pudgy guy, who shows up to practice late. Like Tom Hanks in that one baseball movie!

I saw Alan Trammell play in a Detroit Tigers pennant game waay back in 1984...

That also happens to be the first, last, and only baseball game I've ever seen live. I'm not exactly what you'd call a fan...aaaaaggghhhhh sssssshhhhhhhh aaaaaaggggggghhhhh sssssshhhhhhh (loud snoring)

I might watch if they all had to ride dirt bikes or ATV's...
Yeah that was the year before I started caring about baseball.

No, don't remember it :( Didn't start following them until I moved to this area a few years back.
I'll have to do some googlin' and catch up!
Oh ok.

National League baseball used to almost be an art form. Each team had one or two power hitters then many other scrappy, speedy players who knew how to get on base and move the runners around.

Small ball is what they call it. Much more fun to watch than 9 bruisers all trying to hit the ball out.

And yes. I remember Don Mattingly. His card earned me like $40 when I was a teen and needed some cash for something I obviously didn't need.

As long as you remember there IS crying, screaming, hair pulling and other stuff in baseball...sometimes...ummm...in a ladylike manner of course (as long as you have your pinkie out). ;)

It would appear that (as with MOST things) the phrase "I love baseball" has different meanings to the genders. To a woman it means, "I like/follow my teams, I like watching and/or playing the game, I will not bug you with stupid questions during the game (but maybe on the way home), I have my own team cap and finger, I will probably get a little rowdy if someone on my team executes an awesome play/hits one over the fence, and I like hotdogs with mustard and relish."

When guys start quoting stats, the female mind hears something akin to Charlie Brown's teacher, much like men hear when women discuss the new Spring line of OPI nail colors.
