I dont really care how much it costs to live in the US

how about YOU do research before you offend someone with your arrogance.
How about YOU be more self aware about offending people about bringing the kitchen to the beach?

Italians and Greeks in general dont live in huge suburbs needing cars. They can just walk to their market. Its all relative. Having a car doesnt necessarily mean you have a higher standard of living though.

it just means you can go places, crash easily or be stuck in traffic. lol

Is this a serious comment or a lame joke?
My cousin who lives in Trento Italy has to think twice about traveling with his car (a volvo) to Florence a distance of about 300 kilometers because he has to think about gas.
And when i'm there idling with a rental car on vacation they can't stop talking about turning the car off so i don't waste money on running AC.
This brings up another question. When you're a tourist somewhere, do you stay in full tourist mode or do you engage the locals about their way of life?

what, nobody brings their kitchen to the beach.

HAHA you're trolling me right? Okay, you won. :D

I dont know how staying at home, or at work is related to the beach.

In general, homes have kitchens (even if small) . Workplaces often dont. You need to bring your own lunch. You might be lucky to have a workplace cafeteria and time to eat. It depends.

If you work in a restaurant then no problem.
if you work on a film set, you usually get catering.

if you stay at home you can get up and get a snack anytime you want
if you working pepraring a meal needs to be quick cos lunchtimes are not paid.

I kind of like how spanish have a siesta after lunch. I dont undertsand the rush that a lot of workplaces have over break times. I guess some workplaces dont agree that meals and breaks are imprtant for health or productivity.

Teaching or being around hangry children is not fun.

I guess I think about these things more. After all in the Bible the original Adam worked for his food. He couldnt just pick it when he liked after being chucked out of the garden. Thanks to eve who wasnt very good at identifying trees or fending off snakes.

Eli Eli

what planet do you live on again?

Why are you travelling when the thread is about staying at home or staying at work. There are two choices its not about being a tourist. sigh.

If you are tourist and have no home then of course you go round eating out at restaurants and staying in motels or whatver, but thats not what the thread is about. Does it matter what vehicle you drive?

if you are working then a vehicle just has to do the job to get you from A to B in one piece. I dont drive an ambulance or truck but that would be a different job...some people like being on the road all day for a living. I guess that would be a third option. But that has its drawbacks unless you used to that way of life... and dont really need to feed or clothe anyone else but yourself right.

I expect pilots and people working on ships see their vehicle as their home anyway for most of the time.

the dichotomy between work and home sometimes is blurred. anyway people as people are more mobile they still seem to want to be grounded. 'Third culture' missionary kids say as much.

I see that you are experienced in the art of trolling Lanolin.

You know, when i first joined this forum the first comment i said to you was: I like your monologue writing style.
You know why i said that?

Well for two reasons.
First reason is that when you talk to someone, you don't quote them, so it kind of makes it difficult to follow and you look like you're talking to yourself.
Secondly, because it's hard to tell if you're following the train of thought in the topic when you don't quote someone, i assume you're joking when you make off-topic comments which have nothing to do with what anyone is talking about.

So, let me roll the dice.

I'll take cat food for $300.

I think there's a lot of hype nowadays for good cat food. There's a lot of misconceptions out there about what's good cat food and what's fake. I use a type of cat food from Jimmy down the street who owns a farm.

I dont quote people because my quote function doesnt work

You dont have to quote me on that.

Quoting people is like when people repeat everything you said back to you but get it wrong and I dont know what the point of that is. They like repetition?

So I just like to stick to the topic in a thread I created

Because some people just love derailing threads dont they and acusing people of trolling when all they are doing is discussing a topic....which is..... stay at home or stay at work.

I just kind of ignore people who talk about me as if I dont exist or make random comments that just dont make any sense. Its not meant to be mean or unresponsive its just I like to focus rather than respond to hecklers lol

Travelling sales rep is probably not going to be my next job. I like travelling in small doses..its difficult to make a home when you are on the go.

Its interesting that very few workplaces would be willing to offer accomodations like they would have done in the past ..factories would have workers cottages, hospitals would have doctors and nurses stays, churches would have manses.

Im supposing thats not the case in some countries or states that dont have housing problems which I am not aware exist where landlords and tenants have a respectful relationship?

anyway it just seems to me where you live (home) and work seems disconnected in many places. The only places that seemed to have worked are ironically so called retirement villages where none of the residents actually work.

living above your own shop would have its downsides too.

Dear diary.

Looks like a lot of people nowadays are taking a page from Harry and Meghan’s book where they get to say a lot of things in public forums while plugging their ears and rejecting anything else anyone has to say besides the sound of their voice.

I‘ve never seen this kind of acting before.

Oh how I miss playing bocce ball with my friend Tom. I hope I see him soon when he returns from vacation .

Eli seems to exists on another planet and can't make his own thread where he bowls for columbine.
It shall be called Eli's diary thread.

I am sure he has some kind of ADD thing going on. I also talk about him in the third person, and act as if he doesn't do the same thing to me. It's mildly annoying, but then, I suppose it's hard to keep on topic when you have ADD and watch a lot of TV, because computer screens have taken over every room of your home.

But wait...my algorithms can now safely erase his very existence!

Hmm should I ask him a question he can't truthfully answer? Or something stupid like...are there restaurants in the US? Does he take his kitchen to the beach? And other such randoms, whilst inserting adverts promoting US exports. We all know what sane people do with intrusive advertising.

I got an island for my kitchen, I found it at clearance price at one of the odd lot stores that are sort of like a perpetual rummage sale. I got it because I needed counter space, and I had "cake stuff" in mind for the cabinet storage that was one of its features. So, I put baking stuff in it and kind of pushed it up against the wall where it stayed for a while because I really did need it so much, after all. So it wasn't really an island but just a peninsula that I would put things on so that they were out of the way. But then, I found a stand mixer on clearance at Macy's and it took up more counterspace...and I had nowhere to roll out the dough that I was now capable of mixing hands free so, I rearranged the kitchen so that the island was actually an island and now I can make cakes and cookies that call for rolling out, with my rolling pin that just had been just getting in the way when I was looking for a ladle or tongs...
Anyway, chef often expressed concern that, when I would rearrange things at work, I thought I was at home and I would answer, "I might as well be, k" but now, when I'm home I think, "k, this could well be work..." Would anyone be interested in buying some cookies?

Which would you rather do?

Or do you have some hybrid type arrangement where you work from home and have a home at work?
Not all of us are domestics...
I would rather be in my Eternal Home with the LORD Jesus and my Brthers and Sisters in Christ. ASAP..
