Jesus, please be with Emily. We know that You are, but PLEASE let her feel it more than normal. Please comfort her a whole bunch, Sir. Let her feel Your peace. Thank You that she's our sister. In Your awesome name, amen.

One other thought, Emily. It would probably help to change your avatar. I know that if I put up a message about wanting to die it would make me feel worse. What if you changed it to say an encouraging Bible verse, or a beautiful thing in creation, such a flower? There are verses about praising The Lord despite terrible circumstances, such as "though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him" (I think I'm quoting that verse exactly; I can't easily check right now). Anyway, not to pick on you, but I really think it would help to switch to a more uplifting avatar.

I love the new don't nag thread. I think it's kind of funny. I don't know why, I just do.

golly, i thought that was my birthright, as a woman!?! isn't that the main reason that women get married? so we can nag men?

and they're trying to take it away from us?!?

what's next? our lip gloss and heels? it's all madness!

*sigh* what is this world coming to, anyway?

That lady sure felt convicted to post all over the site about nagging. Serious issue in today's society.

convicted? is that what they call it??? ironic, isn't it.

maybe someday (if i ever decide to marry) instead of nagging, i'll just say:

"honey, i'm convicted to remind you that..."

Here's to hitting the reset button. In a way I don't even want to continue anything without my mom. I just refuse to move until I get my way. Then I realize I won't then I move then I realize moving is painful so I stop and say I won't move till I get my way.

Some women use another weapon 'Don't you love me enough to do this?' I think that is worse than nagging. :p

I have been noticing this recently-

The 'Everything is fine/Ignore' type of Christian- I don't want to hear about the atrocities of the world, because that may cause me to ask the hard questions/ question my faith/God. It doesn't concern my daily life.

I confess I have done this in the past, I don't always watch the news, but when I get so darn passionate about something I deem crucial and think everyone else should be as on board as I am, and I have 18 views on my prayer request. Well *throws hands up in the air in frustration* ARGGGGGGGGGG!! SJDHSUDIDNWDQIDHWUDHW!!!!!

You know what? I have a difficult time trying to convey to any Christian why we must be concerned about the atrocities in the world. It just never gets to them. I think most Christians live in a shell and say 'Oh, God watches over me. So no matter what happens in the world, I will not be harmed.' And then they quote Psalms 91 to reinforce that belief. I do believe that God watches over me. But that does not mean you must feel pained when someone out there in the world is wronged. What about them? Shouldn't God watch over them too? And how would God watch over them if you don't pray for it?

The day I read about the 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in Nigeria, I couldn't sit still in office. It was gut wrenching to read about the news and I was disturbed about it for the whole day. I talked to my parents (who are very spiritual btw), and some of my youth team members regarding this. Their response was 'Oh, that's sad.' That left me more frustrated because there was not one person who was affected by the news. Eventually I came home, knelt down and said about 2000 praises for those children. I kept praising God that He may send His angels to protect these children and bring them home. I don't know if it made any difference, but I know I did what I could.

There is nothing more frustrating than talking to people in my church and at home and finding out that they are not upset by the injustice in the world. As long as they go to church, worship God and feel the hand of God in their lives, they believe that they are on the road to heaven. Maybe they are, but I don't want to be like them.
