I'm going to go on a short bit of a rant here. Someone on my facebook recently posted an article on the Green Lantern from DC comics now being gay. Well the glaring problem with that to me is that the article is about 5 or 6 years too late. Green Lanterns been gay for a while, but that's just me showing my nerd for now. That was what started bugging me about the article, but then I started thinking about it more often.

Biblical illiteracy is at an all time high. False teachers run rampant EVERYWHERE not just on TV folks. And because of these two problems we have Christians running around spreading false teaching, misquoting scripture, and just all around making all christians look like a bunch of unknowing fools (because of course the world doesn't look at us as individuals). I am not going to take a side for or against homosexuality, but I think the church has far more pressing issues then whether or not someone is gay. Which is really more important? Calling out a false teacher for perverting scripture or fighting gay marriage? Which is more important? Encouraging the church to band together and support each other and show love, or stop Gay people from adopting?

Do you really believe in your heart homosexuality is wrong? Do you believe it's a sin? Good, how do you expect to argue that point if people don't trust you? How do you expect people to listen and understand you, if literally the only scripture you know are the ones against homosexuality? How do you expect them to respect you, if you can't give one single defense for the hope that is within you? That hope is predicated on the word of God, and the word of our testimony. How can someone believe your testimony if you don't believe the very thing that makes that testimony possible? Read your bibles people. Test all things according to scripture and stop taking sides in political battles because it's "your duty as a christian". Your duty as a christian is to desire God, and show his love to others, not slam a group of people because you don't like them.

Last night my Son had a sleepover guest. This friend spends a lot of time with us. So much that my Daughter and him argue a lot. Last night they were playing well. My Husband and I could hear them as we were watching a movie. We heard her huff and whine and walk up the steps. I asked her what was wrong. Ethan told me he's the guest so I am his slave. I tried not to laugh, I said, Ethan, Olivia isn't your slave.

It was an interesting evening.

Fun fact: We tend to exhale more from one nostril than the other. If exhaling and feeling it come out of your right nostril, it means you're tending to your logic/intellect side and from your left nostril is your creative side.

Just thought on putting that out there.

So Superman renounces his U.S. Citizenship and the green lantern is gay now. Even the DC universe doesn't escape the ridiculous over politicizing of absolutely everything. Lol

I posted this elsewhere, but I wanted to share it with you guys that never leave the singles forum:

There were three kingdoms, each bordering on the same lake. For centuries, these kingdoms had fought over an island in the middle of that lake. One day, they decided to have it out, once and for all. The first kingdom was quite rich, and sent an army of 25 knights, each with three squires.
The night before the battle, the knights jousted and cavorted as their squires polished armor, cooked food, and sharpened weapons. The second kingdom was not so wealthy, and sent only 10 knights, each with 2 squires. The night before the battle, the knights cavorted and sharpened their weapons as the squires polished armor and prepared dinner. The third kingdom was very poor, and only sent one elderly knght with his sole squire. The night before the battle, the knight sharpened his weapon, while the squire, using a noosed rope, slung a pot high over the fire to cook while he prepared the knight's armor.

The next day, the battle began. All the knights of the first two kingdoms had cavorted a bit too much (one should never cavort while sharpening weapons and jousting) and could not fight. The squire of the third kingdom could not rouse the elderly knight in time for combat. So, in the absence of the knights, the squires fought.
The battle raged well into the late hours, but when the dust finally settled, a solitary figure limped from the carnage.

The lone squire from the third kingdom dragged himself away, beaten, bloodied, but victorious. And it just goes to prove, the squire of the high pot and noose is equal to the sum of the squires of the other two sides.

donkeyfish that joke was terrible. But it reminds me of my uncle Hobart, the celebrated man with the foot long nose.

See, uncle Hobart was born with this nose that was a lot longer than other people's. He used it to make a living too - for a while he traveled with the circus. He could stand on stage and identify the perfume of the woman sitting in the back row. Unfortunately one night he turned over in his sleep and his nose somehow got stuck in his ear. The mighty nose sneezed... and almost blew his brain out.

Now wide awake, uncle Hobart settled down to do some serious thinking. Such a thing could happen again, and next time the air seal might be better. In fact it was a miracle this hadn't happened until now. But uncle Hobart was no coward. Once he made up his mind he carried out his plan. He got his nose amputated, put a suction cup on his glasses, and got a job at a local brewery, where he is still there working their still.

The moral of this story is that no nose is good nose.

I remember hearing about the Green lantern a long time ago. I never heard that about Superman.

Have you seen what they've done to Archie??? I was browsing one day and it's like Archie comics went off the deep end. They killed Archie and it's like some alternate universe. I guess they're grasping at straws to sell comic books. When I was 12 I had a really bad case of pneumonia, my Mom bought me a lot of my favorite magazine's and books to read while I was sick. One I loved to read was Archie, now my Mom would look at those and freak out.

They killed Archie?! NOOOO!

Well they've been doing those Archie comics since I was a kid. I guess there are only so many jokes you can make on the stock characters they had. Archie the good ole boy, Reggie the conniver, Betty the wholesome girl-next-door, Veronica the spoiled rich kid, Veronica's dad the Scrooge, Jughead the bottomless pit, Moose the jock, Moose's girlfriend (can't remember her name) the cool girl who surprisingly likes the jock... Yeah, even with that lineup of stereotypes you gotta run the well dry eventually.
