After a morning of cleaning up goldfish crackers, granola bars, cereal, and pasta...I installed a couple of baby-proof latches on the cabinet doors. The instructions said to do things like...measure, and use a drill...but that seemed silly to me. So I just relied on a bit of masking tape (imagine that), a Crayola marker, and a hammer and nails to get the job done.

...the cabinet doors won't close all the way now. But!!! They also don't open unless I push the latch down, so...win!

I'm just gonna be awkwardly blunt here - I wish women had the ability to pee standing up. For many reasons (road trips, camping, etc) but today I realized this again when I had to gather up my long skirt because I don't want it on the floor when I go.

Guys, the next time you go to the bathroom... Really take in how good you have it in this regard.

when a new patient comes into the office, i hand them a clipboard with forms they need to fill out. i say, "please fill out these forms. if you have any questions, let me know." am i wrong to assume the instructions are clear? if the instructions are clear, then why do some fill out the first form, and then ask if they need to fill out the others? or return the clipboard to me with just the first form completed?

wat.

I do dumb stuff like that every time I enter a doctor/dentist/chiropractor office...I get handed the clipboard and a bunch of forms and I sit down and put the pen to the paper...and then my brain exits my skull. It's a super strange phenomenon. I know all kinds of stuff right up until I'm asked about it, and I know exactly what I'm supposed to do until I have to do it.

Mmhmm: Download Windows 10 Technical Preview ISO - Microsoft Windows

I'll see how driver support is. Eventually, though, I plan to dual boot with Linux Mint.
If you already know how to dual boot it's easier in the long run to just install Mint on a flash drive. My boot time is actually faster than it was from the internal hard drive (fast flash drive) and a few years down the road when I give this old computer to someone I won't have to reinstall Windows on it.

Plus your whole computer system can fit in your pocket.

My car got stuck at the end of my Mom's driveway today. My step father and I dug most of it out. The city plowed one part of the street and blocked all of the drive ways. I told my Mom to plug her ears because I was gonna swear. My poor 81 year old step father fell. There is hardly any snow on the street and it's 40 degrees out but there are big chunks of ice at the end of the driveways.

I forgot I had salt in my trunk. When we got back I dumped a 40 pound bag of rock salt at the end of the driveway. I hope it helps.

Argh!! Snow plow drivers, while often helpful, are sometimes the cause of worse problems than what we started with. We park two vehicles alongside our fence, next to the street, and when the snow plow comes through, they make this giant, long snow bank all along the edge of the road so that we can't get out, plus they block the driveway. And occasionally hit the corner of our back fence. Grrr, snow plows...
Is your step dad ok after his fall?

Yes he's OK. He cut his hand but he's ok. I'm mad, someone from the neighborhood called about one chunk of snow in the street that you could drive around and now all the driveways are blocked. Lucky for us two.nice men walked over and pushed me out.

Of course now it will take 4x's longer and two extra trips to the hardware store to fix this than it would have taken to install them correctly the first time.

I have listened and listened and tried to make out what she is saying, but all I can hear is "starbucks lovers". What IS she saying???
Type the singer's name, the song title and then the word lyrics in Google search and it'll take you to some lyrics sites. It looks like she's singing, "Got a long list of ex-lovers" :p as opposed to "Starbucks lovers."

But I make up my own lyrics if I don't like a line in a song. I do that all the time. :D

I like "All the lonely Starbucks lovers" way better. :p I'm a lonely Starbucks lover, and I think she's insane. So it fits quite nicely! :p

My phone got a little "scroll happy" and I thought this was a response to Rachel's pee standing up post. While I know they make such contraptions for avid hikers and such, I was momentarily impressed that you had the DIY skills where it would only entail a couple "trips to the hardware store." I was about to caution you against being too graphic when mentioning "installation."
