one word: people lol
Okay, I understand that. I am not a fan of too many people either. I am more of a person to stay at home and avoid them. I can tolerate up to a certain amount, but I usually have an issue with them around the Holidays. Now I love to go grocery shopping because that is where I come up with some new ideas for recipes.

Lol the irony here reminded me of when a co-worker of mine was harping on about morning traffic on his commute to work.

Co-worker: "Gah!! Traffic! I hate it!"
Me: "Joe, you are traffic when you're in it."

Thanks for the prayers, friends. I can finally say I'm feeling all better. :) I do regret taking NyQuil on Thursday night, though, because I had to play in a recital the next afternoon and I was ridiculously groggy. Fairly certain I forgot the beginning of the entire sonata. -.-

That said, things have been fun lately. I got my senior portraits back, and I graduate a month from tomorrow! I have LOVED my time as a music major but I am SO done being a university student!

I've been tossing around the idea/kind of praying about/kind of daydreaming about...

...reducing my hours at work to 80% (four days instead of five) and using that day to build this stained glass thing into a business. With my other side jobs, I can afford the temporary loss of income...and if not, I can substitute teach that day if during the school year. 80% would still allow me to maintain benefits at my current job. Of course, if I get the promotion/dept transfer I just went for, it's a moot point.

Today I went into the stained glass supply store to get some zinc border for my current project and showed the gal a pic of my latest completed project. I had no idea the other lady with her was a student. She immediately showed the other lady "See? Once you learn the basics, you can do all this innovative stuff like he did with the copper wire and foil overlays." So my work was used as a positive example in someone's instruction. Cool.

I then went to the studio to get some chain because I am hanging one of my old pieces up at home. The studio owner gave me a check for my piece that sold. woot! woot!

So does God speak this way? Is this an answer? I think I need a neon sign or something. I can be dense about these things.

Catherder: You need a catalog and a price list! I'm not much for buying gimcracks, but I have to admit to wanting to buy something in stained glass. What, I'm not sure... maybe a siamese cat? It would help if you had a photo album of past works so I could get a thumbnail sketch of what you can do and what you charge.

I'm always cynical when it comes to business start-ups, so I'll keep my trap shut. :)

Agreed. Once you have a lineup of work, you need to design a catalog with the prices mentioned on it. Check out www.vistaprint.com for some cheap (but good) options. :)

You could save yourself from further stress by not worrying about your lack of sleep. :p

Here's a flowchart which I am putting into daily practice. I think it could help you.

When a problem comes -
1. Can you do something about it?
1.a. Yes? Then do it!
1.b. No? Then what's the point worrying about it?

:)

That reminds me, I've always thought that I hated the mall, until just recently when I had an errand to run that required me to go there on a Tuesday morning, around 10:30AM. Aside from shop owners, there was NO ONE there.

It was amazing. Turns out the mall is actually enjoyable when there aren't so many people around XD

Updated flowchart to more accurately reflect a thorough planning process

1. Can you do something about it?

Yes. - What can you do?
What is the likely result of that action?
When is the best time to do it?
Is there more than one possible course of action?
No. - What can you do to mitigate the results of this happening?
Is there a way to reduce the risk?
Would talking this over with someone help you come up with other ideas?

Not now but later. - What will be your signal to act?
What else could happen between now and then and how will that affect what you do?
What dangers do you need to look out for between now and the time to act?

I could go on, but I think I've made my point. Now does someone have a treatment program for those of us who are chronically over prepared?

Yeah, it's called a baseball bat. Otherwise known as a "manual override." The side effect is a major headache though. And if the manual override is used it gets the nice guys in the cars with the flashing lights on top all excited.

I think it's sad that Aziz had to write, read before you judge, on his looking for a Godly wife thread. I felt bad that he feels he has to write that, but he's right people would jump on him if he didn't put that disclosure on there. That's really sad.

I hope he finds what he's looking for.

I agree. And had Oncefallen not added a word, it could have turned out badly irrespective of his disclaimer. That thread showed me how quick I am at judging people.
