The local grocery store is honoring a coupon for $1.00 off per can of SPAM. No limit. Looks like I better get down there and stock up. Spam makes a dandy SHTF food storage item.

Laugh it up furball. When the apocalypse happens, I'll gladly be eating Spam sammiches while you and the other survivors are fighting over cans of Alpo to eat Road Warrior style. That's fine. None for you, more for me.

Who do you think will be baking that bread for your sammiches? :p I'm the forum member who makes sourdough bread.

By the way which apocalypse is it? There are so many impending apocalypses I lost track...

I know a lot of women on Christian chat will probably agree, but I don't get the appeal of a movie like Magic Mike. I'm not blind but I feel really uncomfortable with that type of movie and I've had other women ask me why? I don't know, I think part of it is I don't like watching women or men act all goofy like that. I get embarrassed for people. I'm not a fan of romance books or movie's either, they don't have any depth to them. If I watch a movie I want it to make me laugh or make me think beyond my own little world.

They didn't have orientation with y'all? We had to go every year, to get all the paperwork done and class pictures taken.
Orientations? What do they need to do orientations for? When I went to HS it was like, "Here's your textbook, here's what we're gonna learn, here's your homework. Have a nice day.."

I'm prepping for all of them. Zombie, Nibiru, global pandemic, thermonuclear war, EMP, lizard-people illuminati, 3-days of darkness. It don't matter. Either I'll be prepared for whatever eventually manifests, or I'll have a lot of spam and freeze dried food to eat. Prior Planning Prevents P*** Poor Performance.

I think I'd rather die a quick death with the rest of the planet than try to scrape by and live in a deserted, post-apocalyptic world for God knows how long...

I'm with you Fenner. If watching women dance "sexy" for men's entertainment is humiliating (and it is) then watching excited women watch men dancing "sexy" is sooooo much MORE humiliating. I'm embarrassed for my entire gender. I don't get it. I can't even get through a preview of one of these movies. Please tell me there isn't a third one coming out.

So you must have actually been DISAPPOINTED when all the computers didn't go crazy at the new year...

Nah. I knew all the important stuff ran on variants of Unix, but it was a nice excuse to replenish my stores.

Don't forget, cans of SPAM also make a decent weapon to ward off the hordes. You should be practising your SPAM throwing skills now, BEFORE the pocky-clipse hits.
You'll know you're ready when you can hit a Zika-laden mosquito @ 10 yards...

Pocky-clipse? Now that really WOULD be a disaster, no more pocky!

Great, now I'm gonna have nightmares tonight about going from store to store trying to find some pepero.

Weird ting of the day:

The theremin (/ˈθɛrəmɪn/[SUP][1][/SUP] THERR-ə-min; originally known as the ætherphone/etherphone, thereminophone[SUP][2][/SUP] or termenvox/thereminvox) is an early electronic musical instrument controlled without physical contact by the thereminist (performer). It is named after the Westernized name of its Russian inventor, Léon Theremin (Термéн), who patented the device in 1928.

The instrument's controlling section usually consists of two metal antennas that sense the relative position of the thereminist's hands and control oscillators for frequency with one hand, and amplitude (volume) with the other. The electric signals from the theremin are amplified and sent to a loudspeaker.

Yup, the theremin was featured in the original Star Trek theme. And the Beatles song "Good Vibrations."

And if you want to add a theremin to your computer musical instruments, Spook Keys is a good freeware virtual theremin.

That's probably more than you ever wanted to know.
