I guess it's safe to say I'm probably on the better side, when I feel like eating, and actually want to do something, besides sleep.

[Holding back its tears the Desert thought of barbed retort, but then remembered Jesus words, "bless those who curse you." So he looked up at Abi, his face a picture of compassion, and asked, "Seconds?"]
This is one of those times I wish I could like a post more than once.

I feel terrible. Do people have "recharge stations"? I need one really bad right now.

Lately I find myself doing something, anything, to avoid having to go to bed, because all I do is toss and turn anyway.

And so I'm always up searching for any distraction... but then, of course, paying the price the next day (and I think it's charging tax.)
I can completely sympathize. I have basically been a zombie today....I can't focus and I wanted to do something creative today but it's hard to do if you're too tired to focus. Blah.

So my church closed down two years ago. It was very sudden and it hurt a lot when it happened. Now my mom and I haven't found another yet. We've visited a few here and there but we just haven't found that home church. My brother has though. He actually found his right away.

Today he told me "I really don't consider you and mom Christians, you all don't even go to church." UGH! He is so annoying and rude.

I should act like I'm an enemy worshiper. See how he likes that. Although it would just be acting.

I probably shouldn't have said the above comment. I'm sorry. I was just speaking out of anger, I'm really not going to do that. I'm just hurt that my brother would say that about me and my mom.

It didn't even sound angry to me. I thought u were just relating it because it was kind of funny (acting like an enemy worshipper to get back at your brother). :)

Electric guitars make almost everything better. (Even gregorian chants could be improved by a bit of humbucker.)

Christmas greetings in the PC age.

Please accept with no obligation, implicit or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practised within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice, with total respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, and their choice not to practise religious or secular traditions at all.

Additionally,

A fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2016, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our society great, without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith, sexual orientation and choice of smart phone and computer platform of the wishee.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and no responsibility for any unintended emotional stress these greetings may bring to those not caught up in the holiday spirit.

This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is either revocable or limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

This greeting is void where prohibited by law.

I would've been mad if my Brother said that to me. It wasn't nice to say that and going to church doesn't make you a Christian. In fact attitudes like that is why I stopped going for many years, but people say what they say and I hope he apologizes. Just remember that a church is a building. The Holy Spirit lives in us. You could sit on your front porch and study the Bible and that could be your church. So please don't let what your Brother said get to you because he was wrong.

Christmas Thoughts:

Why did we have to run the air conditioner on Christmas Day? Christmas is supposed to be freezing cold outside and warm inside. When it's warm outside and we have to run the AC inside, it just... doesn't have the same "cozy" factor.

My cat got run over on Christmas morning. I think I have given up having cats here. We live on a back road, at one end of a long straightaway. People round the curve and stomp the gas to sail down the straightaway. If I ever get a cat again at this location I'll get a whole litter of cats, so maybe ONE will turn out smart enough to not go in the road and not climb up into car engine compartments.

We need more chairs. We had just barely enough chairs for all the people who were here last night. People in recliners, kitchen chairs, piled up on the couch... God help you if you needed to use the bathroom. We need more chairs, traffic lights at major intersections like the kitchen/living room intersection, and another bathroom or four.

Aside from losing a feline we had a great time yesterday. About a third of the people here weren't even family, but someone invited them. The more, the merrier. If anybody doesn't have plans for New Year's Day, we're doing the whole mess again in about a week and you're welcome to drop by. You don't even need to bring any food. We always have too much food anyway. We'll probably ask you to take some leftovers home because our fridges are all full of leftovers that we'll be eating on for a week.

Sounds good. I'll bring some Munkholm (non- alcoholic beer) and be on my way
