iTOREtheSKY random & useless life updates # 8027

So...I got all my fixin's do make my awesome mac & cheese. Now after coming back from the store a while ago,I find I am no longer hungry. Going to the grocery store has the reverse effect on me I think than most people...I tend to be less hungry once I know I have food in the house. Kinda bizzare really. So yeah,anyways...I shall make my yummy bacon mac & cheese extravaganza later tonight I think.

Applied this morning for a job basically doing customer service (similar to what I do now) for a I guess gardening distribution center. They handle all sorts of seeds & stuff for all types of vegetable, flowers, etc. So I'd be on the phone all day & at a computer dealing with people's questions & taking orders for them. Best thing about the job is that it's full time & has benefits. I'm really more just concerned with the 40 hrs a week, because my main goal is to save up enough loot to get the heck outta dodge ASAP! I know,I know..in God's timing. Now I just have to make sure (or I should say,God has to assist me in) not getting evicted from my current domicile & come up with the like gazillion $$$ in need to pay my landlord in back rent.

I truly hate this. I have never ever ever been in a situation where I've owed someone money, other than maybe like a doctor bill which as long as you give them a few bucks every month, they're happy. Thing is...I hate debt. (like who enjoy's debt, right?) It's a terrible feeling to know that you "owe" someone something & they have this "power" over you.
Only power I want over me is JESUS! *funny,as I type that..and I think..hmmm "then why do I fight Him so much?"*
lol ..well,that's an entirely different post ,now isn't it? Indeed. :p

Been in a very wanting to "create" something amazing mood lately too.
I really want to go out & buy some acrylic paints but I really don't have the $$$ to be wasting right now on stuff like that.
Paints are not cheap. Nor,is a decent canvass.
I so do miss when I owned my own home & I had a huge room downstairs converted into a sort of "workshop",where I could crank up the tunes & paint & build junk. My dog would come down & start snoring loudly on the bed in the spare room adjacent to the room I used to paint in & I'd have to keep turning the music louder & louder. I'm certain that the louder I turned up the music, the louder he'd snore. lol He'd wake up the second I get up to go upstairs, and I'd look at him & say...
"Do you realize, puppy that YOU are even louder than Chester Bennington when he screams...do you????"
Of course he'd look at me like I was an idiot (rightfully so) and then yawn at me.

So...I really have no idea as to why I am sharing all this nonsense with you people,so ummm.yeah..imma go now.
My brain locked up at MAC & CHEESE and I had trouble reading the rest of this! I'm starving! Gotta go! :)

LOL! There is no hope for me there. :) I can't go to the mall without doing that! haha
I'm right there with you. I have the last of a candy cane scented candle going even as we speak (well, we are not technically speaking, but...you know). That and a pine scented one got me through the Christmas season, as I just have a fake tree and miss the pine scent. In years past, I've also bought a wreath from my kid's band fundraiser just to get real pine scent in the place, but no kid in band this year :(

My favorite is sandalwood, but I also like citrus and coconut (or anything tropical really - pineapple, mango...or that weird "ocean" scent), oh and vanilla. Not really into the flowery stuff.

Any other guys like scented candles? Maybe I should post this again:

@ Cat & Julz...how funny,'cause at this very moment I have a vanilla candle lit. I am pretty much a sucker for vanilla & coconut scents. Oh and for some odd reason...there's 2 perfumes that make me go lightheaded that I just love... Obsession for Women & another one (don't know the name) but it smells like cotton candy. *swoon* lol

She forgot to mention the amazing aroma of Vicks Vapor Rub!

I love citrus! My sister gave me citrus body wash and lotion for Christmas. Used it yesterday and this morning. So fresh. I mentioned a few months ago here that I bought a men's citrus body wash from Mennen for my son and it smelled so amazing that I snuck into his bathroom and took it. :)

I ended up buying watermelon and linen scented candles, and these body sprays from B&BW: Velvet Sugar, Warm Brown Sugar and Cashmere Glow. Very light scented. Heavy scents give me a headache, so I try to stick with light body sprays rather than perfumes. :(

My favorite scents: Sandalwood, anything fruity (especially orange, lemon and coconut), cinnamon/brown sugar, and light southern florals like lily of the valley/ magnolia/gardenia/roses/hydrangeas/lilacs. Lavender kills me allergy-wise, so I avoid it completely.

I love the smell of leather (new cars, shoes, wallets, purses, HOLSTERS :D and even Bible covers haha), new books, freshly bathed/powdered babies (amazing :) ), spring grass, the spray of the ocean.

I'm all about aromatherapy too. :) Spic and Span makes a lilac very lightly scented cleaner. When I walk through my backdoor into my house and catch a whiff of lilacs in my clean house every evening, it makes me smile.....I'm home. :)

The new scents for Spring at B&BW are so fresh. I particularly liked Beautiful and Airy. I will, of course, buy the citrus as well when Spring comes. :)

the cotton candy-ish frangrance is probably pink sugar. and yes, it does smell a lot like cotton candy.

i love going smelling at the mall. it's a great way to pass the time. i have lip balm that i always keep in my purse that smells just like tea tree oil, and i pull it out to smell every few sniffs, just so that i can "cleanse my palate" otherwise, i'd get major overload and start getting nauseous.

i really love mostly the herbaceous, "green" scents like verbena, bergamot, and the like. sometimes i like the coconuts and tropical scents, but prefer them tempered with lime or a citrus note, or they're too cloying for me. i also love berry notes, and especially, i adore fig. fig is possibly one of my favorites. i also love green apple, pear and cucumber notes.

i used to get those body sprays but never used them and would end up just spraying them around the house to use them up. have you ever smelled the VS vanilla (sugar?) spray/scent? that was/is my favorite vanilla scent.

i really love thierry mugler fragrances, angel is what i love most, (but i also really love alien too). angel has a top note of bergamot, but i can pick out a tiny note of baby powder in the finish. anyway, i go back and forth with those two. they're the only fragrances that i've ever had that i can just spray my hands and run through my hair and then in two minutes i can't smell it anymore (or worse, taste!). but yet, it seems to have quite a longevity. i'm hooked.

i also love lily of the valley, lilac and magnolia, but i seldom like fragrances that attempt to recreate them. occasionally, but not often. pacifica makes a rose candle/scent that smells JUST like sticking your nose into a bloom. also, i'm pretty sure yankee's "rose" is not bad either. i also really adore plumeria.

i have one of those "sun and sand" yankee candles that i'll fire up from time to time, just because i love the fact that it reminds me of beach memories and the smell of coconut suntan lotion. mmmm. i can only take that one in limited doses. but it's amazing how scent teleports us to another time, right? one of these days i'm going to make a list and associate memories to scents. i started it in my head, but i think i'd be fun to finish.

i.e. "artificial" cherry = being sick (cherry cough syrup), chapstick (the black waxy old fashioned kind) = skiiing. i would imagine a lot of these stem from childhood.

what's it with the smell of leather? i love holsters too! anything leather, really, except when they ruin it and put it in a bottle. demeter had a line of specific and single fragrance notes, and i could never understand why i hated "leather essense" but loved the smell of the real thing. i think a lot of is nostalgic too. it's the first thing that i smell (except maybe hay) once i hit the barn and so i associate it with very happy thoughts. bibles, shoes. mmmm. lots of good associations.

thanks for the spic and span tip (i usually just use vinegar - which i hate the smell of, but it goes away fast). i am always scared of those fragranced cleaners. i haven't had enough good experiences to outweigh my trepidation. i usually hold my breath for the entire length of the cleaning products aisle.

Thanks for the pic, I forwarded it to some Salvadoran-American friends because I thought they would appreciate the metaphor.

How about this one, Praus? (it's Reagan again to the rescue)

iTOREtheSKY update of life & randomness...ramblings..etc... # 49601 (lol)

umm.I called my hairdresser,Erica like 10 minutes ago. She totally yelled at me as I was trying to make an appointment with her. LOL

I was like....doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood...chill out woman!
(she hates that I let my hair grow out & then she has to cut it, after like 3 months.)

So ummm...yeah...I made an appointment..and she TOLD me we are going for the mohawk...no faux-hawk this time... lol...She's sick of having to do this fake hair cut on me..that I should just own up to wanting something cool & stop pretending to fit in. lol

So I guess this is what is to be. I'm still gonna try to get her just to go all faux-hawk on me. Dunno if I am all that into having a mohawk again.

Now if I could get the color pomegranate again,perhaps I'd consider this....anyways...ummm....yeah so..."Hi" :)
Carry on.

I actually do enjoy scented candles.

I have an old bible with scented candle stains on it as I used to read by scented candle light (then I found full size T8 Fluorescent bulbs in red, now I have one of those hooked up.

I wish someone made scented candles with essential oils rather than fragrance oils. You can tell the difference between natural and synthetic and the natural would be so much more heavenly.

I shouldn't take credit for it....

Dutch saying (probably badly translated):
'It's better to steal something that's good, than make up rubbish yourself...'

So here's another pic I 'stole'....

I've seen Patriot Games and it was very good, been a long time ago but, yeah, and, Clear and Present Danger. Espionage thrillers !

Costner's one of my favorite actors, he was great in No Way Out especially, and, especially, I liked the scene where he spilled coffee on himself to get away from the folks coming in to the Pentagon to ID him for the murder of his g/f. Taut stuff !

I've always likened Costner to Richard Gere, who played the lead role in Officer and a Gentleman, one of my favorite movies, despite scenes suggesting pre-marital sex is OK (it's not). Has a good score (song) in it, too, that talks about a 'He'll.' 'Course, this 'He'll' is whom we all know and love as 'God,' the God whom first loved us and whom we believed in and whom we have faith in He'll one day take us to heaven, and, not hell, and He'll see His work done in our lives through our working, for our blessings and His glory, for we are His workmanship. :)

Wow! that was a a lot said right there. Good thing, I'm in the streaming thread, yay ! :)

But, yeah, I think, inthose two movies, the actors could've been interchangeable. Gere ruined himself somewhat by being 'reckless' in his movie choices after Officer while Costner picked more selectively, and, therefore, smartly, and, it made a big difference in movie roles of blockbuster male roles coming Costner's way, like The Rescue, The Guardian, The BodyGuard, JFK, The Untouchables, and, of course, the movie, C. directed and starred, Dances With Wolves, which, I believe, was movie of the year and won an Oscar, or, two, for Costner.

People want to say, probably, 'Well, Gere was a star in Pretty Woman." not really, the star was Julia Roberts. Gere was a sidekick, more or less, the real 'acting' was done by Roberts, NOT Gere. "Arbitrage" and "Primal Fear" and "Sommersby" are three of gears post-Officer movies, have you even heard of them???

Anyway, just streaming my thoughts on a Saturday afternoon/ Streaming a song, too, because, the Lord leads, but, this made me cry when I saw it in the theatre when I was 13 and will take care, soundly, of the 'He'll' explanation above. :)
