Have you ever felt God asking you to take a break from dating? At this age in my life many of my peers are either married, have children, looking for love, or just dating and enjoying the single scene. I have felt God call me to take a break from dating and spend more time with Him. I have never been in a singles ministry so I am new to this. The christians I know are either happily married or searching for their future husband/wife. Many of the books I find all talk about what to do until love finds you or how to prepare yourself for your future mate God has for you. Are there any books on singleness? I honestly don't have an interest in dating and really want to put God first in my life instead of focusing on perfecting myself for a husband. Has anyone ever experienced this call to singleness even if it was just temporary? Any books or resources you would suggest?

I read I kissed dating goodbye..some like it..some don't..there's every man's and every woman's battle..lo..im s of different books I'm in that place too..and it's probably going to be for a very very long time as I'm dealing with many factors and things like financial stuff..etc..I think a man has to be able to care for a wife physically and if he doesn't then perhaps he's got no business even considering it

I'm glad you're working at putting God first in your life. I find it a hard war to fight a lot of times, but it's well worth it. I don't know about any books to suggest other than THE book. Read you Bible a lot. Pray for understanding of what you're reading. Really pray over it and think on it.
The more effort you put into it, the more you'll grow.
