Don't really know... I usually think about a combination of the past present and future in any given moment. How? You want an example? Hmm... I'm not sure how, as it's my wiring (something that comes innately), but here's a scenario:
Pastor is preaching over xyz topic, in this case, let's say lust. I see all the moments of lust I've created or acted on. I feel convicted and ask God to forgive and help me in this. I think about what I'll do tonight/ in the upcoming 24+ hours not to do the same lustful things.
So it's a lot like associations in Psychology. Here's another Ex:
I'm thinking about what I said and did in Sunday School, what is being said and done at the current moment of service, what I should say and do for children's moment coming up... What the pastor will say and do in the sermon, and how what I say and do should tie in to that, what the youth are and should be doing as they help in different roles throughout service, what I need to this afternoon and how to prepare, tear down, and do similar things for the evening service coming up...
Not to mention a plethora of other things, and all of which thought processes take mere seconds.
So... I tend to think a lot of things after church on any given Sunday...
My mind is like a multitasking super-computer, but just because I can think of many things at a time doesn't necessarily mean I can act on many things at a time.
