The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. One of the best books ever written in my opinion.
The Book Thief, by Marcus Zusak, written from Death's point of view.

A post-apocalyptic book about a young boy riding his bike out of town who sees the bomb go off, grows up through the wastes. Can't remember the name but one of the most harrowing, and ultimately inspiring, stories I've ever read.

I enjoy the Idiots Guides to books, but I've only read one For Dummies book and it was about Narnia. I skimmed through one on the Bible and wasn't impressed. It didn't favour a biblical creation perspective and didn't hold the Bible in high esteem.
Oh really? That's a shame then :(
Most of the ones I have are academic and related to math, so that's probably why I like them so much. I've never read any about the Bible. I have a few others on hobbies like Clarinet for Dummies and Ballet for Dummies, I enjoyed them.

A few years ago I found a book titled 30 Days to Understanding the Bible by Max Anders. It REALLY helped me understand the word of God. Now I read the Bible with ease. Before I had no idea how the Bible fit together as a library of 66 books. It's a great book and I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't understand the Bible.

I've never read an Idiots Guides to books, but I may give them a try. Recommend any?
