So here is to the best of my knowledge my perfect woman.

A Woman who can say anything with her eyes.
A Woman who will Follow God to the end of the world.
A Woman who loves life and loves living it to the fullest.
A Woman who is deeply curious and loves solving mysteries.
A Woman who loves to travel.

I agree, except for the eyes thing. I need someone who says stuff with her mouth...if she talks with her eyes, I'll miss it.

The perfect man in my world:
Courageous, yet compassionate.
A leader among men, but humble before God.
Hardworking, but appreciates the view from the top of a mountain or the roar of the ocean.
Curious, but not obsessed and afraid to make mistakes.
Adventurous, but knows the value of roots.
Has hands that are strong enough to swing a hammer, but tender enough to hold my hand.
Man enough to encourage me when I'm right and stop me in my tracks when I'm not.

I have a bit of an issue, im new here so idk if im doing this right, but theres this girl and she seems perfect for me, we get along very well and have a very healthy friendship. She's two years older than me and she is not a christian. and she is FAR from it. This is where my issue comes in. She is going to college this year and is moving, and since i found out this news my feelings for her have been growing immensely. But she is living in complete sin, she gets drunk a lot, and she hooks up with people and does not hold stable relationships. Tonight she told me that she hooked up with this guy and it went bad. and i tried to talk to her to try and lead her on a better path, and she insists that she'd do it again. It saddens me in both ways that she is going the complete wrong way in her life, and also she doesnt realize my feelings for her, and doesnt realize how much it hurts when she tells me this stuff. I love her to death as a friend, but i dont think its worth trying to be more. I am very sad at the moment and could use some comforting words. Please reply.

Joe, right now your friend needs you to pray for her. I know how much it hurts seeing someone you care so much for living a life that totally displeases God, and feeling helpless to do anything about it. However, God is an Amazing God. Last night, I've heard testimonies from a couple of people who had been struggling to witness to their families. One was a mother who's eldest daughter would have nothing to do with God.The mom kept praying for her, and trying to share Christ in her way. The daughter ended up meeting a young man in college who was a strong Christian, and accepted Christ. Then there was this man who was saved as a child. His heart became burdened for his family, and slowly they have started to accept Christ as Savior. The one thing both of these testimonies had in common was how much they prayed to God to reveal Himself to their families. So, while you might not see anything happen, just keep leaving your life for God, pray for her, and keep trying to reach her.

I think the "perfect someone" is out there for me looking the same way I am hoping to find him. But at the same time I think we may be looking in the wrong places or have certain expectations of the physical kind that may make us miss each other.

While I was at the singles conference the other week a lady told me about how to pray dor a mate. She made a list of all the chracteristics that she wanted in a mate and then made a list of everything she had to offer and prayed about them both and shortly after she found her husband. She met, dated, engaged and married in four months. Amazing unique story. But I do believe in the power of prayer.

As of right now, I have no idea of God's plan specificly for my life. For all I know, he has called me to be single. I see it as whatever happens, happens. I'd love to have a wife and a family but I also know that God is above all things.

I can summarize what I am about to say with this one quick word.

pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft!

Now to explain.

If there are humans involved, there is no way perfection is part of the equation :D

Though I must say I have once met a truly wonderful girl that well... in light of this imperfect world I viewed her as she would have been perfect for me.

She was honest. Told me off when I messed up. Was there to help me work out my problems. Challenged my way of thinking. Would only listen to reason and not just opinions. And was a truly odd person. She was so wonderful.

God has that right person for us, but it has to be in his time when it happens.
