I've found that it's REALLY easy to get your single friends to hang out on valentine's day, and putting together a singles thing is a lot of fun.

Whereas if you were in a relationship you'd be going to a packed restaurant and waiting for hours to get your food because of all the other couples there. All that while dealing with bummed out, over-worked (read: slow) servers who just want to be with their significant other on valentine's day but have to work instead.

To date my best valentines day was the one I spent with my church friends just hanging out around the house.
