Sigh.

The only desperate thirst should be the Matthew 5:6 kind
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

But, if that's not enough, then there is this.

DUCHESS! I've missed you! Where you been?

The fight would be epic but they'd be fine. It's you and me that'd die laughing.

Totally!

I know I haven't been around much... there's a lot going on in my life right now. I've mostly been in chat. But I'll post in the forums more often. :D

Oh come now, you don't need a gf, you'd like to have one. Huge difference. Anyone who needs a significant other before entering into a relationship is in a dangerous place.

I've finally accepted whatever may be my lot in life, even if that meant no significant other. If I end up dating someone (not even actively pursuing it right now as I'm jobless and I've given up hope of finding a woman while in my current state of joblessness), I'll be in good shape. If they start acting like they needed me before we ever went on our first date I'll look at that as a warning sign for sure.
Nah, I definitely think I need a significant other. I mean, I don't really have much of a life right now,but if I did have someone to share my life with....could you imagine how grand my life would be? TIC of course. --> :p

Thirsty is slang for desperate for a boyfriend/girlfriend. Always talking about it.
Right, and, I see God moving through these threads in an abundant way from the thirst, just saying, EE :)

Actually, a majority of the posts here have nothing whatsoever to do with getting a boyfriend/ girlfriend
WWKD, are you counting my threads :D

Am I like the poster child of damaged souls here?
No, just noticing things, keep it up, brother, the Lord leads :)

Tell God all your needs and take YOUR desires outta the picture and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Seriously. Scripture doesn't lie, AidK :)

Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourelf in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

I want an iced Pumpkin Spice Latte, and it's a little too late in the evening for that. It will have to wait until tomorrow. :D

Agreed. I thought when the threat started that thirsty meant the hunger and thirst for righteousness kind. I didn't even know it was slang for desperate. Stupid dating slang took away one of the best words in our spiritual vocabulary.

I have more than enough Love of Christ to cover all of those here who are desperate. Just don't ask me to hug you. I can't do that through a computer monitor, and if I did, you'd probably be afraid of me. Very afraid. Because then I could raid your fridge through the computer monitor too, and some of you post some very delicious recipes.

I'm trying to think of some movie like that Will Ferrelll, picture in the sand with empty bottle.

I don't think that's the flick I'm thinking of, not sure what movie that's from even, but, I am thinking now on this, it's like something funny from some movie, 'I am soo thirsty, if I could just get one drop of water on the tip of my tongue.'

Then, again, maybe, my mind is staking me to this thought. Slaking?

19“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

25“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’
27“He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
29“Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
30“ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”
Sorry, EE, don't mean to derail your lovely thread, milady :)

Seriously, though, be careful, mindful of love you are feeling and the soupy suppleness of it's carry. It can get you into some 'strange magic,' into some stuff that gets you away from God, gets you, you 'put your lips together and come real close. Why don't you whistle for me, whistle for me, baby, LET ME KNOW.'

Don't be carried away by that stuff, I urge you to get enrapt in His Love, which is a thirst that you will no water no more for, He will provide, Scripture tells us all this, in so many words. So, remember, your abundant life comes in His sweet 'music' for your life, NOT the world's. YOUR HOME should be WHENEVER you are with Him :)

Dude that post. I totally didn't think of that story. Yeah we have the ultimate thirst quencher, and it's not Gatorade. It's Christ.

So what if someone puts a few silly pics up as long as they aren't offensive or breaking chat rules, people generally don't have a problem with things. How dare you generalize the use of public assistance to "slang talker's" there are hundreds of thousands of able bodied, proper grammer speaking americans who have to use food stamps and food pantries just to survive day to day and I'm one of them!.. you look thirsty for attention, how bout you get thirsty for Jesus!
