I would imagine God feels the same way about us, and is touched that we want to "climb up into His lap" to talk with Him.

Now if it's other issues--for instance, if you're falling asleep because you're not taking care of yourself or spent too much time on something that's taking away from your prayer time (like TV or video games) then yes, you may be paying attention to other things and need to curb some behaviors.
I giggled like a child in the thought of "climbing up into his lap" to talk with Him. That is just sweet. Unfortunately, I have seen myself doing things that aren't really important in replacement to my prayer life. Gotta change my ways.

I can't imagine a better way to fall asleep than with words to God on my heart. I often pray in bed before falling asleep, and I used to feel guilty about it as well, but I feel like God has reassured me that keeping communion with him in those soft moments and drifting to sleep with him on my mind is a wonderful thing. Much better than falling asleep worrying about all the stuff I need to do the next day.
These makes so much sense. Wonderfully said.

I definitely do not think God frowns on us if we fall asleep during our time with him... But God should be #1 priority, as even Jesus would wake up before everyone else did to spend time with the Lord. What it does show us is our priorities... Like... How come you fell asleep? What did you spend your energy on that leaves no more energy for God? Or how can I go to bed earlier so that I can wake up more refreshed to spend time with God so that I don't fall asleep? I think we should always strive for our best with God, not because of works, but the more time you spend and focus on him the more blessed and aware you will be of his presence in your daily life.
Thanks for these reminders: being always the best for God and to faithfully prioritize Him in my daily life. I'm inspired on how you consciously surround yourself to feel God's presence in your daily life.

I spend time with the Lord whenever it occurs to me. I either go somewhere private, or just bow my head, close my eyes and pray in my mind.
