BuffOldGuy, I remember a thread you created about how you have a bad view of women. What steps have you taken to overcome that? And I am curious to know what you do love about women. :)
Just realizing that women are people too. So, they're not perfect. Focusing on that God can and does work on women. I feel a lot better since then.

I love how sensitive and emotional women are when it's a good light. They can brighten up a room with them just being happy.

I like how women tend to be clean.

I love it when a woman gets clingy... it's really cute but scary at the same time. lol

I like the detail oriented-ness of women in general. They catch things I don't catch and while they are small... it just makes my day much nicer. I'm thinking about my aunt and how she just remembers little things.

My aunt makes me food... how nice is that. I kissed her on her shoulder today lol

I like how agreeable women tend to be. Women seem to be flexible and not picky about getting their way sometimes... sometimes. lol

Those are the things that came to mind. :)

Well...I got this far into the thread & after what I have to say here & now,I won't be coming back to this thread...I don't even care if it resolves itself & fireworks with butterflies & flowers are shooting from it. I for one second cannot imagine Jesus saying to any woman (or man) in a terrible situation or if that person was in a place of utter despair, him saying,"By the way,you know technically you deserve all this & worse 'cause yer' a sinner & headed for hell." Jesus never whitewashed anything, but he also comforted people, showed a bit of compassion & love. They all knew they were sinners,as we know we have all fallen short. Women don't deserve anything??? I think what they need most from men is the love found in 1st Corinthians 13:1-13...maybe more of that & less of threads like these.
Through-out my post, don't think I'm talking about your fate and destiny. I'm looking at things generally. I don't know anybody's fate and destiny.... whether they go to heaven or hell. Anyways...

I'll put it this way... on judgment day. I think God will definitely think they deserve to be in that horrible horrible situation. You have to think about context... on one side... you have people who deserve hell and choose to stay in their sin and separated from God. On the other side, you have people who deserve hell and choose Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior.

The people who have pride and think of themselves as holy and good. And don't want to repent and stay there. Like the pharisees, those people will be in hell.

On the other hand, the people who repent, turn towards God/Jesus and let him be their Lord and Savior from a fate they deserve. They won't go to hell.

Please think about it carefully. There is what we deserve... and then there's God's loving heart in where he desires all men to be saved. Men and women that don't deserve it.

I probably ought to know better than to step in this. :p

But buff old guy, imagine that I started a thread that said "Men Should Not Lust!"
Would you say "yeah, that's right! They shouldn't!", or would you say "Women shouldn't lust, either!"

It's true enough. Men should not lust. But the whole truth is, NOBODY should lust. If I just point out something that men do wrong, when it's a sin committed by people in general, it's going to make men feel picked on.

Do you see where we're coming from?
I would say, yeah of course men shouldn't sin. I wouldn't mind if someone said men shouldn't lust. I'd say guilty as charged. Thank you Jesus for your forgiveness.

That's beside the point though because your right.

I should've been more considerate about how women would've read this. I don't think what I've said was wrong but the part of HOW I said it could've been more understanding and considerate.

LOL Brother

But I get what you are saying; "Deserve”.

This is an emotional term and most, men and women, do not focus on semantics but respond with emotions instead of intellect; including me. The deserve is not universal as I have experienced in other countries during my limited travels throughout the North Pacific and Mexico. Women are often abused. Treated literally as dogs. It is a very sad situation and they "do deserve" better and "the best".

I do agree with the "deserve" when it is applied to "CONUS". The same I have found to be true in the US churches. The pastors preach very little about what the Bible has to say about women in churches. Again in U.S., the "Purse" rules. What is that proverbial saying, "He Who Has The Gold, Makes The Rules"? The majority of U.S. secular women and of Christendom know the power of the "Purse" and "Husbands Having To Sleep On The Living Room Couch". :D

I believe that additional education should be included and when not performed it can sometimes send the wrong subliminal messages to our Sisters in the Lord thus creating conflicting behavior among some;not all, male and female relationships.

Unfortunately, the Spirit Filled and Led Sisters in Christ are not treated fairly in many of the US congregations. According to the "Word" each woman in Jesus' circle were given great deference. As an example consider, that on the cross, Jesus did not speak directly to anyone else in the natural except concerning a woman; His mother. "When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold, your son!'. Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother!’" (John 19:26-27).

I count four times the term woman (feminine references for acknowledgement) is mentioned with deference; son and disciple (masculine) only once. When Jesus spoke to the disciple; masculine, He gave a command of preference for the feminine; mother. I also note that Jesus took the subordinate position to his mother, when referring to himself as "son".

I have learned something from your thread Buff that I never noticed before until today; e.g., while here on earth and based upon John 19:26-27, our Sisters in Christ do "deserve" special and favorable treatment. This is not a cop-out and I stress, "Sisters in submission to the Lord". The "Jezebels" of the OT and "Sapphiras" of the NT types are exempted from the "deserve" comments.

I have gained new insight and deeper understanding of Christian male and female relationships according to Jesus' example on the cross.

Sincerely, Great thread Buff. This is one of the best that I have participated in as a new comer to the CC.

Respectfully submitted by
Livingepistle
The women being treated badly... shouldn't be treated badly because sin shouldn't be done. The deserving or not deserving is in a different scale.

I seriously think your stretching it. Just because you counted mother 4 times... and son once in two verses. Consider counting how many times Jesus looked up to his father in heaven (masculine reference of acknowledgement) So, by your own logic... it would actually be men that deserve special treatment. That doesn't make sense. Whether you deserve something or not... is better described by the Law. And I'm sure you understand that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. We deserve hell.

[h=3]1 Peter 3:7[/h][SUP]7 [/SUP]Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

Husbands are told to treat their wives with understanding. I think we can imply that if husbands are instructed to be understanding of their wives... it's a need. Like, love is aswell.

It's not that they deserve it... I think it's that God knows well enough about women that they need special treatment.

I'm so done...

Previously in this very thread you have said that you meant neither men nor women deserve anything. Why is the title specific to women then?

I both agree and disagree with you, if I treat someone with kindness and respect I do deserve for them to trest me with kindness and respect. If I treat someone badly I do deserve the retaliation. Yes we all deserve hell but that is not an excuse to treat others badly. We do not deserve Gods love but we do, if respectful, deserve the respect of our peers. I do not mean out of pride but out of behaving in an appropriate and grown up manner.
The reason it was gender specific is because I was looking at how there's a trend out there where women say.. "I deserve to be treated..... " (because she's a woman)

Honor where honor is due... that's what covers what your talking about. If you treat someone kindly... then honor is due to you but it isn't because your a woman. Just because your a woman... doesn't mean you deserve it.

[h=3]Romans 13:7[/h]
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

About hell.... you said I was making an excuse to treat others badly??? O.O!

No, I was not. If you think so, you misunderstood me. And no we don't deserve Gods love if we're respectful... we can't earn it. The respect of our peers... honor is due where honor is due. I think we can deserve that... based on that scripture. I think you went unto another topic.... your talking about behavior.

I was talking about how some women out there think they deserve to be treated special because they are women.

I'm a man and I deserve to be treated well because I'm a man.... <--- that isn't right... why is it different with women?

Hopefully, that helped.

sure! :) (or do I mean I'll try and you let me know?)

since it's you who asked, I will say that in your OP you seem to be saying that you (and perhaps others) 'deserve' a better class of ladies than the ones being dished out to you right now.
granted, I have been ill, and this may simply be fatigue and low hemoglobin causing even poorer brain function. (lol)

I understand there's been a terrible change in some women since the 1950s...and perhaps especially since the 1980s.

And I concede I don't keep up with the ladies who post regularly in this forum, although most seem like lovely Christian women, from what I've seen.
I also grieve the fact men in western culture are dealing with wholesale disrespect in many ways, and it's as wrong as it used to be when secretaries were chased around a desk.

I hear that you are frustrated, but I wonder if you've given up? Or have thrown an entire group of women out of the running for your prayers and your help?
Our son (4th born) is your age. I am speaking to you as I would to him.
If you were a young woman complaining of men, I would be saying different things.

thanks for listening-
ellie

Nah, I think men don't deserve any ladies... but God was kind enough to bless us men with you.

Women are God's gift to men and men just like women have been beyond spoiled. But, because of our sin... we deserve... well you know.

I'm a bit frustrated yeah but I'm just pointing something out. That's literally it. I'm just pointing something out.

About giving up... I don't want to count on women. I think it's better I counted on God. So, yes I've given up on women .. and men... I don't think either men or women can fix themeselves up (be counted on) but because of God there's hope. He changed me from a potential monster into what I am now... it'll be okay. :)

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Salvation is a gift, nobody deserves it, JESUS dieing on the cross for our sins aswell is something we did not deserve due to our sinful character.
But INSIDE CHRIST, that is if we have given our lives over to HIM, we will reap what we sow, that is we will get what is RIGHTFULLY promised to us by GOD. Get what we DESERVE in other words.

plus even to those unbelievers, would you not say that if a person worked hard enough, and shown great dedication at work, DESERVE a salary raise?

it is a command for men to love women as Christ loved the church, so they DESERVE TO BE LOVED. it is a command given from the LORD, refute it? take it to HIM. because if you say they do not deserve it then why did GOD bring them into being?
why did the LORD see Adam all alone, said nah ah, it aint going to be like that, let me give him a helper.. so they both can DESERVINGLY do my assigned work.
thats my view. when you see a woman as an object, you would not value her the way GOD wants you to value her. They are humanbeings, and they deserve to be loved just as you want to be loved. Just as the LORD loved you first, love them first.
a legalistic view of this would basically stain the coat of holyness the Lord wants you to have always in LOVE.

Well I get this.

We have all fallen short and deserve nothing but condemnation and punishment and this includes women.

What irks me is that yes women think they deserve better treatment and it likely stems from the feminist movement and even before that. Well that was in the past and we're now in the present. Yes Christ said to love one another no matter what. If a woman thinks they deserve to be treated better whilst mistreating men (or even other women) then THEY will be dealt with by a righteous God and will reap what they sow. There are no exemptions or exceptions.

I used to think women were near perfect and did nothing wrong. Far from it and not consistent with Gods word.

It just seems to me that women think they should be treated better because they're just not as bad as men (or so they think). No. Women have their sins too. It may not be lusting and arrogance (though that's debatable) but things like gossip and nagging for example.

We all need to treat each other as we would like to be treated and we definitely need Gods help for that!!

I'm NOT saying that Christian women or women in general shouldn't be treated nicely but just that they shouldn't use the word "deserve." Also, I know God wants us to treat each other nicely but that doesn't mean we deserve it.

We always hear women(in general) say that they "deserve" to be treated a certain(nice) way. And what I'm about to say is something only Christians can understand and if your not Christian then you have no right to say anything because you don't understand.... So here I go...

Women don't deserve anything, we're all sinners and what women deserve is actually hell. We know this as Christians. We know that mankind, both men and women deserve hell cause of the evil we are all guilty of. (Also, as Christians we know that we received forgiveness of this fault through Jesus Christ and thus Christians go to heaven not because we deserve it but because God loved us enough to die for us to pay for our crimes). So, why are women saying that they "deserve" to be treated nicely? That word tells us that women are entitled to be treated nicely... just because they were born. (That's clearly the context it's said in) I think pride is the reason why they use that word. And as we Christians know we're all born into sin. <---- please don't nitpick on that, just agree with me that we're not perfect and eventually sin someday.

Note: There is one circumstance where there's an exception. And I'm not sure if that's the only exception but it's honor your father and mother. I also remember scripture that says to give honor where honor is due. So, only a mother deserves to be treated a certain(with honor) way... and to make it more accurate... I think it's ACCORDING to how much honor she actually deserves. (due)

Romans 13:7
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

So, I think the solution is simple. I think Christian women should just stop saying the word "deserve" anymore. And I imagine most of you would agree with this... there's no argument here and if you want to argue... I won't argue much because of how clear and true this is. Unless... there's some point of truth (non-argument point) that I completely missed. I'll be happy to say to accept my mistake.
women DESERVE the same thing Men deserve: love and respect. God wants us to show grace to others as He has shown to us. to forgive and lay our burdens and hurts at the foot of the cross.

I wonder some days if people aren't still single because they want to hold on to the hurts and wounds they received in the past instead of letting them go and allow God to heal their wounds. they want to continue picking at the scab and rubbing more salt in their wounds, because if they feel pain at least it is some sort of feeling.

It makes me kind of sad and I will continuing praying for all the hurt and wounded people out there who lash out at others because of their own pain.

You say that you honor your parents, your mother because the Bible says to.

I hope you recognize that the Bible also says to honor your wife, to love other women as your sisters in Christ and to love and honor them as well. They deserve it, but so do you. You see God is about love.

1 Peter 3

[SUP]7[/SUP]Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

[h=3][/h][SUP]8 [/SUP]Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]9 [/SUP]not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For
“He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”[SUP][b][/SUP]

[h=3][/h][SUP]13 [/SUP]And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? [SUP]14 [/SUP]But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”[SUP][c][/SUP] [SUP]15 [/SUP]But sanctify the Lord God[SUP][d][/SUP] in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; [SUP]16 [/SUP]having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

I would agree. Men deserve to be treated well, not be beaten up (as for prison, be it male or female if they committed the crime they deserve prison, if they didn't then they don't.

I'd love for every man to meet their princess. I believe everyone woman should be treated as a queen and treat their man as a king.

I really don't see anything wrong with any of those statements...

we are God's children and deserve to be loved and taught His ways. none of God's children deserve to be abused, starved, mistreated or made to feel worthless because God loves us and He tells us we are worth more than grass and He catches our tears as they fall.

The lesson here is.... We all equally deserve the same amount of nothing as everyone else. So no one really has to be offended by this thread.

I don't think this thread really needs adding to. The OP said he isn't going to add to it anymore so I don't really see a point.

Yikes those fonts are huge. O.O
