I want to see the Tigers there, however I have a feeling they will not make it. I do not want to see your Yankees there...so I will have to check stats and see whom I really see there. Maybe play some fantasy baseball. Plus I must include my son in this talk, otherwise he will feel cheated. I will get back to you after spring training!
Why not confident in the Tigers?

I would agree about the ALC, but that's not the right team... :p

I used to be a baseball fan when I was a kid. I even collected baseball cards. That was back when hank aaron was still playing. I can't get back into it anymore or any other sport except american football.

I just can't get into baseball because of those guys with big muscles using steroids just so they could hit farther. Football players have to be big because the game is based on brute strength, size and stamina, but baseball players?? No, just no.
You don't think the random drug testing is a deterrent?

Looking at baseball footage from the 80's and earlier, players were certainly not as muscular as they are now.

I think most of the muscle now-a-days has to be attributed to weight lifting and diet though.

But a couple of players are already known to have used steroids. Barry Bonds was convicted of it and Mike Mcgwire confessed to it and someone... I think it was one of the trainers said that it is used among pro baseball players a lot more than people think and that there are ways to get around the testing.

Don't forget Roger Clemens.

All of this predates the random drug tests I was referring to.

Last season Irvine Santana(MN Twins) tested positive for a type of steroid and missed 1/2 the season as a result. That's a pretty tough penalty(not that I object). The Twins were in the pennant race until just a couple days before the 2015 season ended. Some of us wonder how well the Twins could have done had Santana been a starting pitcher from the beginning of the season.

The system currently in place is 3 strikes and you're out. First mistake is 1/2 a season. Second time is a full season. Caught a third time and you're MLB career is over.

Are there workarounds? I don't know. The penalties that are in place, though, are pretty severe. Rightfully so, too, in my opinion.

Oh I didn't know that. I haven't been a baseball fan for decades. I know one workaround is to secretly switch urine samples with someone who is clean. I don't know what other workarounds they meant.
