Is your father a Christian? If not, then it makes sense why he might possibly say that. Non-Christians generally don't mind Christians having their faith, as long as they don't really stand out.
If he is a Christian and he's saying this, perhaps you should ask him, "How am I being too religious?" because unless you're avoiding people who aren't believers or trying to correct everyone who does wrong, I don't see why he would say that.

It's easy to get too religious. All you have to do is follow a system that God taught someone else for how they were supposed to respond to Him. That is not a good thing.
But it is never wrong to follow Jesus too closely, and that is a different thing. If you do that, you might look religious to some, but that is a good thing then.

How come i dont see anybody else act like me then? All i see is a bunch of hypocrites most of the time 
Just after Jesus got done feeding the 12,000 people (now THAT's a big assembly), He told them about being the bread of life, and they all walked away. Jesus had only His best friends left, and He asked them "will you also leave?" Then on the cross, there were only three people there, and one of them was His mother. I bet both those times He felt even lonelier than you do.

If u want to see what too religious is watch the movie "hidden secrets" great movie.... Persinally i think true christians shouldnt be quiet about thier faith i think we should spread the word in many possible ways but not to force people cuz then theyll turn there back on god.... It is better that one sinner will accept god then none at all...
Just finished watching that movie. After you get past the first 10 minutes it becomes extremely good. And that ending... Awesome!!!!!!!! thank you...

many times our relationship with God grows when we are alone one on one with God..
I too have been told I am too religious .. but then I look and ask myself , does god tell me such things?
Would he ever tell me I'm spending o much time in the presence of His company ?
No, God would never tell me such a thing .. in fact , He tells me I was "first" created for "His enjoyment"..
Truly truly I tell you friend man will call such time with God "many things" .. But what God says about it is always the same ..I believe God would call it "love"... You have a "love" for God in your heart .. the greatest commandment over all

hey bro u can always try to encourage them to lift their voice up more, try to get some of them involved on some little outreaches..
its pretty fun actually going on outreaches sharing the gospel to a horde of people, like say a concert, or basketball game , football game, some random campus... some would think doing this is too extreme or not called to this but i can say we were called to preach the word =P
