Tattoos are a turn off for both christians and most non-christians, christians who think getting a tattoo or a piercing or doing up their hair nice or drinking a beer will give them score points in evangelism really need to come to grips with reality. All you need to talk to non-christians is a sincere heart and a listening ear, the rest will follow. Once you are talking about spiritual matters, and their soul either going to heaven or hell, who really gives a stuff about your nice tattoo?
Amen. Couldn't agree more!

Tattoo's are NOT a sin, good Lord what part of RESEARCH don't you people understand? No one is justifying a sin, you just don't want to accept he truth, because you've been brain washed all your life with lies. Again tattoo is a man made word. It's totally different from what things were in Bible days. You have no right to judge others, you can only judge the fruit they bare. If that fruit is good, then shut up already. Not to be rude, but you aren't God. How would you like someone to just look and say 'oh they're not a Christian, I just know it, I don't have to give a reason, I can just tell'. You can't judge a book by its cover. I know many, many Christians with them. Also that's a load of bull, most non-Christians DO have tattoos. Most are covered from head to toe with them. Some you don't know, they put them in places that can only be seen without clothing on. Again, if someone's not convicted by God for something, then leave them alone. You aren't God, you can't convict or condemn so mind your own business. TheJesusFreak1990 thanks for actually being a decent person about things! If a tattoo is the worst thing a Christian has, or does...ever in life, then they're doing pretty darn good! People need to get over saying something's a sin, just because it's something they personally don't like, want,or have.

You know what actually does turn non-Christians away? it's you so called Christians that judge, you assume things, you condemn, etc. Then the one's that profess with the mouth they're a Christian, but then walk around living a life that shows other wise. you think people aren't watching, oh you couldn't be more wrong!

So the only reason a person would want to be tattoo'd is because everyone else has one? Wow that certainly doesn't sound like 'worldiness' does it?

You really do have an imagination...no one said anything about others getting a tattoo just because others have them. Time to come back to what's called reality. I'm not sure where you come up with the junk you do, but alright then...you twist things way too much.

yup...amen! Same here. However, don't let the sun go down on your wrath, be slow to anger, and fast to forgive. Love and pray for them all.

Standup, you justified your tattoo by the fact that many others have them, and I quote:

You can't judge a book by its cover. I know many, many Christians with them.
So much for "being different"...

It is not enough that tattooed people must justify their tattoo by the fact that many others have them, they twist scripture to say that God has one as well!

I didn't say that I have mine because others have them, yet another lie you have told. You are the one twisting context. You should just really keep your negative stuff to yourself. I don't have to justify myself to anyone. God hasn't convicted me, so therefore, there's nothing wrong with my tattoos. As for being different, I am. Each person is different, each tattoo is different, each reason for each tattoo is different. You can't tell someone they don't love God, or aren't as committed to Him as someone else, just because they have tattoos. You aren't God, and you sure don't know that persons heart. So just back off, all you do is look for and cause fights on these threads anyways.

TheJesusFreak1990: Keep on being so awesome man! Don't worry about what others say, they just don't know the truth. Who cares what they think, they can't condemn us so whatever! We love God just the same, more than they'll ever know. At least we aren't ashamed to express our faith! Of course there's many other ways I express my faith, love, etc. that's just one of the ways I do it, and also....I prayed and prayed about things, and I know God said it's okay, He even told me what tattoos to get! So don't worry about, or get worked up over people like him trying to stir up chaos....some people just need to mature some more. God bless.

If I write "Jesus loves me" on my arm in red pen will that give me as much success in evangelism as you have? Or is that not "cool enough" for you...

PS. I never questioned anyones love for God, but I do question the twisting of scripture to claim God has a tattoo which would not be for any other purpose than to justify yourselves having one, and I also question any claimed benefits and advantages of a tattoo for any Godly purpose... perhaps if you used the time you spend justifying tattoos to research the verse in question better.... you might discover that Jesus's name is written on his garments or sword, not tattooed on his thigh... and the opening statement in the OP which is "It might sound bizarre but it is true!!!! "...would be less flamboyant and more balanced.

What part of it's not about being cool don't you get? seriously! I never said you questioned anyone's love for God, that wasn't meant for you. I have researched things, it's you that lacks researching things. I don't waste time justifying anything about tattoos. When I respond, I'm on free time I have. I worry more about my relationship and walk with Christ. Why don't you just drop it and mind your own business and worry about yourself more than dragging others down. What kind of Christian is that? the ones that turn non-Christians away, and even turn some Christians away. You can't speak for God, you can't say that He would or wouldn't accept something about someone. He looks at our hearts, that's what we're told in His word. Here's the sad thing, you STILL can't stop looking to cause chaos on this site. You've been warned on many threads on here, to back off, yet somehow you just can't grasp the concept that you SHOULD actually listen. I'm not wasting time on this or your nonsense arguing you love to try and stir up. So you say whatever you want, I'm not responding to you anymore.

God has a perfect and a permissive will, which one does tattoos fall under? Christians convince themselves that anything is alright nowadays, tattoos included, because 'God told them', or ' I haven't felt any conviction'. I've been warned on fairly few threads, it's a shame you cannot bear to listen to correction and warning about tattoos from scripture... or that Jesusfreak did not interpret the scripture properly, preferring to jump to the conclusion that "God has a tattoo"... I suppose we could say God is a tattooed and pierced bikie dude wearing a leather jacket? :/

ha ha ha I wasn't gonna respond, but that's just too great to pass up. You have been warned on MANY threads not a few. You need to keep your mouth shut when you don't have any idea what you're talking about. I KNOW what God told me, you don't. There's no correction to be taught, I'm not in the wrong. So just for once in your life, have a little respect, and leave others alone. SO WHAT you don't agree with tattoos okay who cares you made your opinion known. We respect that, now show a little respect for us and leave us alone. You let God deal with us. It's very sad that you can't just stop.

hmmmmmm, i have no problem with tattoos. but in my oppinion, remember this is for my life, we are the temple of God and i will try to keep my body as pure as possible so it can be a pure sacrifice to Jesus. i am not gudging anyone, tattoos do look neat. lol. and i dont think it says in the bible that its bad to get a tattoo. (does it?) and i think when the bible says it is written on his garment and "thigh", i think there is some sort of meaning behind it. just my oppinion. well, God bless all of you and i hope this thread will soon cool down.

Standup I have been warned on no more than two or three times so you are exaggerating, but who cares this is not about my profile that's your miserable attempt to discredit me because you know I am right and you have no better counter-argument. I know my bible that tattoos are wrong that's what you need to be worrying about :). I also know what God told me and have scriptural backing and the majority of christians I know say tattoos are wrong. God wouldn't have different rules for one person and another rule for another that I know for sure. I really don't care if you personally do or don't have tattoos but I do care when people misrepresent what God said in the bible and even go far as to say that "God has a tattoo" that can be spiritually dangerous. I can post a number of theologically reliable sources that explain how the writing on Christ't thigh is not a tattoo but on his garment or sword that hangs by his thigh. Something which perhaps Jesusfreak should have done before starting this thread with the grandiose exlamation that "God has a tattoo".

No you aren't right, and no it's not trying to distract you. I have proven what I said as well. You just need to stay out of others business. Worry about yourself. You're the one twisting context of both the Bible and what others say on here. It's more than a few threads as well, I don't care what you say. I've seen it many times. At any rate, I could care less what you have to say, considering it's nothing but junk, lies, and made up crap you came up with. I've tried to be respectful, so now that you just can't stop, I'll stop things myself. It's not worth arguing with you.

I didn't make anything up, I bet if we compared christian resources about getting or not getting tattoos from the past 500 years until now, the majority would be in the negative that it is not ok to get a tattoo. There's a number of reasons why tattoos are wrong from a christian point of view..
a) the bible says so in the old testament...can't be clearer than that
b) the Jews did not tattoo themselves so they would be separate from the other nations. The same principle could be said in christianity - don't get a tattoo to be separate from the world.

Besides the fact you are leading teens astray by claiming tattoos are ok and that the OP says God has one. That's not going to help any parents who don't want their children to get tattoos and are trying to raise them up on godly principles.

The OP also says " It might even help us Christians to relate with a Tattooed guy or gal!! "

Are tattooed people some sort of different species of human? Or perhaps we should do drugs to better relate with a drug user? Should we tell tattooed people that God has a tattoo so they relate to him better? No way.

The OP also says that Jesus rebuked the pharisees because they "took God's Word too literally"...ahh no way..missed the point completely.
