Hey everyone it’s so nice to meet you guys I would like to ask you guys if you would answer some questions for my apologetics class I need for willing people thanks so much!
Hello Sarahe28,
Here are my statements let me know your thoughts on them?
1. Since evil and suffering exist, a loving God cannot.
2.Since miracles contradict science, they cannot ne true.
3.God isn't worthy of worship if he kills innocent children.
1. Since evil and suffering exist, a loving God cannot.
First of all, this is a false statement. It assumes that because God allows evil and suffering, that He is not loving. The truth is that, God also gave us "free will," otherwise if God prevented any and all evil, including keeping people from sinning, then how could anyone be judged? Evil and suffering was caused by mankind's disobedience, not God's. It wasn't until the fall of man that diseases, blindness, paralysis, and every other kind of disability befell mankind.
Prior to the creation of mankind, Lucifer, now Satan, and his angels had already rebelled against God and so evil was already present. And because Adam and Eve's disobedience, mankind was drawn into it. But God did demonstrate His love by sending His Son to pay the penalty for our sins.
2.Since miracles contradict science, they cannot ne true.
The above is also a false statement,j as God is not restricted to science. For example, how could science explain the reanimation of dead bodies, i.e. the resurrection? God created science and just like everything, they trust in that instead of the One who created it.
God is Sovereign and has the power to do things that science could not explain.
3.God isn't worthy of worship if he kills innocent children.
Scripture states that, "For in Him (Christ) all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him." Since God created everything and owns everything and everyone, then He can do as He pleases, because He is the only reason that anyone exists and has their being. God would be perfectly fair if He sent everyone to the Lake of fire and that because, due to our sin against Him, that is what we deserve. Salvation is not anything that we can earn, but is a free gift. A get-out-of-jail-free-card, if you will. And that free gift was at the expense of His Son.
Number 3 says "God isn't worthy of worship if he kills innocent children," but God himself in the flesh, allowed His own creation to kill Him in order to save them.
The bottom line is that, God is Sovereign and who can question His decisions or actions?
