Since atheism is nothing more than a lack of a belief in God, an atheist would not be "against God." They may be against the idea of God but if I don't believe in fairies I'm not necessarily against them. Also, I do not see how what you've said is in any way an argument against what I said. Just reading through this thread I see ample evidence that christians often do have a distorted understanding of what atheists typically believe. It would make perfect sense for an atheist to try to clarify their position.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Catholics don't pray to Mary. And my brother didn't hit me despite the bruise. Adn abortionist are all about rape and incess targets. Heard it all before. Gets boring.

Question for you. How come you don't spend massive amounts of time defending you don't believe in fairies too?

Would I be a Christian if I was smoking weed? Probably not. Don't ask such ridiculous questions

I used to smoke weed and I was and am a Christian. So it's possible. Nothing is impossible.

I don't really spend massive amounts of time defending atheism either, don't know where you're getting that from. I'm not an atheist, but I do find it annoying when people use straw men instead of addressing their opponents actual position. People who are able to support their ideas don't need to resort to that, same with the hasty generalizations, guilt by association and replying with things that have nothing to do whatsoever with what anyone said.

Well, I'm getting that because you keep defending atheists. Seems obvious.

And I have already defeated Isaiah's defenses. He never asked me to defend mine, and again, sort of like golf. No real need to defend, unless asked.

So, strike 5. (Good to know what Strawman means before using it as a defense.)

So far you have offered no coherent argument that addressed anything I've said. Not really worth responding to you anymore.

Maybe....
I really t thought it was John though LOL
1 John 4?

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

Last response here, then I need to sleep.

Here's the thing: I don't claim to know where the universe came from. At least, not yet. The big bang theory is a step in the right direction in my and many other people's minds, but there's still a LOT we don't know. But here's the thing: I don't think the Bible is any more a reasonable justification than saying that we don't know yet.

Filling gaps in our understanding of the world with "A guy in the sky did it" has historically not gone too well, and I don't think it's a good path to pursue.

Nobody says science is infallible. Science by definition corrects itself. Unlike the Bible, which still says the moon generates light and the sky is made of water. (Seriously.)

The beauty of science is that when we learn something new, we can revise old theories to fit.
You are right it's not a good path to pursue if you reeeeally want to go to Hell.

Hmm. What's so strange about God creating the world?

Pasteur challenged the idea of spontaneous generation (Part of Evolution Theory)
His research contradicted the organic idea about life coming to existence from... well... not life..,
and eventually we got the law of biogenesis: life only comes from life.

This is quite the thread. Atheists, Biblical quotes, hair, trolling, marijuana. It's all over the place, lol.
