Perhaps it's because every two weeks an atheist joins the site with this mentality of 'I'M HERE TO ANSWER ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS ON ATHEISM'. Act as though they are some novelty on the site and that everyone here is entirely ignorant of what atheists believe and why. Only to have it revealed shortly after that their REAL reason for being here is to push their atheistic agenda while taking an active role in trying to disprove what is believed on here. This behavior is very commonplace and has become quite old and stale. When they are all just parroting clones, both in action, intent and argument, it becomes rather difficult to take them seriously and to not dismiss them.
It makes sense, there is no imagineable reason for an Atheist to drop by CC other than to preach Atheism. It really is no different from an Atheist takingthe pulpit at your church and transforming the congregation to an atheist press conference.

If that makes you feel better, then great. Don't let me or anyone else stop you.

I'm an atheist because I like supporting views and beliefs which are supported by the evidence I and others can observe. That way, I'm not bound to a book which just really isn't 100% truth. It has lots of really disturbing stuff in it as well, which I'd like to avoid. I can find my own groups from which to gain those same means of support.

On the flip side, I get to opt-out of science-denial, people who think natural sexuality should be punishable, etc. etc., all for a friend who by all the logic I can see is illogical to believe in.

I'll give you guys this though. You have changed my mind about whether this is a good use of my time. Have a good day, all of you.
No, you don't have supporting views. You've put blinders on your eyes, ear plugs on, and complain you can't see or hear anything. Completely different thing.

As for books that are disturbing, try medical books. Do they then become wrong because the disturb you?

And as for wasting time, isn't that why your here to begin with?

As for science and sexual, all you did was prove you don't have a clue about them or Christians.

A child's whim changes. Or... you realize you didn't have a leg to stand on and took a quick exit. No surprise there.

Time to come home Isaiah. You came here for a reason. You know God is pulling you in.

Last response here, then I need to sleep.

Here's the thing: I don't claim to know where the universe came from. At least, not yet. The big bang theory is a step in the right direction in my and many other people's minds, but there's still a LOT we don't know. But here's the thing: I don't think the Bible is any more a reasonable justification than saying that we don't know yet.

Filling gaps in our understanding of the world with "A guy in the sky did it" has historically not gone too well, and I don't think it's a good path to pursue.

Nobody says science is infallible. Science by definition corrects itself. Unlike the Bible, which still says the moon generates light and the sky is made of water. (Seriously.)

The beauty of science is that when we learn something new, we can revise old theories to fit.
Wow. Your scientific knowledge lacks. Big Bang is on its way out. And the new theory doesn't connect with the old one at all. If you count on science, you certainly proved you don't count on it much.

This reminds me of the letters that John wrote to the church when they were being drawn by those outside the church who spoke lies
(Does anyone know what I'm taking about? Haha I really need to freshen up on this Bible knowledge)

Besides people bashing me for no reason smh
Nate, people aren't bashing you. But for a guy who claims sinless perfection, you've always done a damn good job of condemning people.

I used to fly to new york just to go to dave wilkerson's church.

There was a little resturant I would always go to and one guy really liked me and we talked togetther.

He told me a story about a hit man. The guy carried a bible, and dressed like an evangelist, but his buddies knew a gun was in the bible. One day he was on his way to do a hit. It started raining and he ducked under the awning over the sidewalk at the church. A little girl came up to him and said "mister you need to come in" he said it was like God himself grabbed his heart and hammered those words back to him. He thought ,what is going on with me? Something is pulling me into that church."
The mother of the little girl had jerked her back into the church and gave the man a dirty look. He smiled at the mom,but said nothing. Next thing he knows the little girl is back, Mister, mister You cant stay out,you have to come into the church. We are waiting for you"

She was pulling on his jacket.

The man broke down. He went in .Got saved. It was not the girl talking to his soul. It was God.

Told my friend the whole story.

Like jesus said "out of the mouths of babes."
