ive read a joke last time.. it goes this way..

EVE: i love you Adam.. do you love me?
ADAM: who else?

..my question is - is it okay to crack jokes using people in the Bible? (but not God, of course).. or even twisting some stories in the Bible for it to become jokes..

I don't see anything wrong with it, Zai. They were people like we are, it's like telling a story about Abraham Lincoln or Chuck Norris. I recall when I was younger, I heard a joke that Eve was the luckiest woman on the planet, because she never had her cooking compared to her mother-in-law's. I was offended at the time that people were joking about Biblical people, but now that I am older I see that they are not sacred like our Lord.

I find it refreshing to hear people joke about bible characters, because it makes whatever happens in the bible fit everyday life way better... sometimes pastor's do it, too. And, in fact, it makes you remember how it's not about those great/awful/interesting people who lived 5000 years ago, but about God who created us with some great sense of humour :)

Its fine. People in the bible are just people. Same as you, me or your friends that you joke with and make fun of in fun. They were all sinners, just like everyone else. Long as there is nothing inappropriate about the joke, or mean spirited, then no worries.

It's okay as long as the jokes are funny.
