"Let love be your only debt! If you love others,you have done all that the law demands.In the law there are many commands,such as,"Be faithful in marriage.Do not murder.Do not steal.Do not want what belongs to others.But all these are summed up in the command that says,''Love others as much as you love yourself."No one who loves others will harm them.So love is all that the Law demands." said Paul in the book of Romans (14:8-10.).And again,the Bible says this:"What if i speak all languages of humans and of angels? If did not love others.I would be nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.What if I could prophesy and understand all secrets and all knowledge? And what if i had faith that moved moutains? I would be nothing,unless I loved others.What if gave away all that I owned and let myself be burnt alive? I would gain nothing.unless I loved others.Love is kind and patient,never jealous,boastful,proud,or rude.Love isn't selfish or quick-tempered.It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do.Love rejoices in the truth,but not in evil.Love is always supportive,loyal,hopeful,and trusting Love never fails!"1 corinthians 13:1-8.

I take issue with your title, but your post is good. Love isn't God, but God is Love. If Love was God, Love would be defining God and who He is. But God defines everything. God defines Love. God is Love.

I think love is what life is about and is at the heart of christianity (and for that matter all religions). For me it makes me want to be gentle and feel for people. Its the lack of love that makes people spiteful and hateful and is the cause of so much violence. And there is no better feeling than being loved. Each of us wants to be loved. It moves into all parts of our lives... we all want to be loved = we all wanted to be regarded as good students = we all want to be regarded for having good opinions on CC = we all want to be thought of by our boss as doing a good job = we all want to be loved.

I guess life will not be life without love indeed :) love is a most important part of our life, beside God, air, and food :p

I think I was not clear in my own mind about it.Actually, you are right God is Love.So,What do you think we must do to persue this:"but I am giving you a new command.You must love each other,just as I loved you.If you love each other,everyone will know that you are my disciples" John 13:34-35.

It's obvious,we all want to be loved but we also need to know the very meaning of Love which is summed up in this following command :"Love others as much as you love yourself" for me,before we refer to the algebra of love,we must begin with its ABC in order that we can hope a better place for all peoples of the world.

you see very often people who are called christians making horrible things but while keeping their chriastians'placard before.They're not capable of forgiving their neighbours but they claim to love them.They speak about Jesus but do not keep his commands.They do not forgive those who offend them but want them the forgiveness.They are not hospitable at their home but mention it when they are not well welcomed.Did not Jesus say treat others just as you want to be treated? I aim no body but It's deplorable that those things are made in our communities.Finally,i only meant that love which the bible mentions,it's the one of God that consists in living according to His commands.ABC for me meant the fact of saying that we love or want love if we are not still capable of having these things such as:hospitality,forgiveness,mercy,patience and any other fruit of Spirit because It's what leads to Love!!!
