Sex before marrige is bad even without God included. Even if there was no God and no Godly law that says you cant have sex before marrige you still shouldent do it. Because what if you are planning to get married, have sex, then all of a sudden your so-called ''partner'' runs off and abandons you with his child. So God or no God(but in this case with God) you still shouldent have had sex before marrige.

Being a teenage male comes with a lot of challenges. One of the greatest challenges is that guys that age tend to think that they know everything. I constantly rationalized my promiscuity. "I am monogamous," I would say to myself, "at least I only sleep with my girlfriend." Stuff like that is what I would say to myself to rationalize my sin, though, even as a stalwart atheist, I knew in my heart of hearts that what I was doing was wrong. Eventually, I couldn't even use the previous excuse I mentioned any more. I had my first "one night stand" at 16. If premarital sex made me feel bad, that made me feel awful. Of course, excessive consumption of alcohol was involved in that one night stand.

The human sex drive is a powerful thing. Because of humanity's Fall, though, it has become corrupted. I understand completely that chastity is a difficult virtue to follow. When asked by the disciples what they had to do to be saved, Jesus said, "With man, it is impossible. But with God, all things are possible." That, I feel, applies entirely to chastity, too. If you are a virgin because of outside forces (parental control, friends, etc.) then it probably won't last. It is a skin-deep commitment. Real chastity requires a strong desire to honor God and honor yourself. It requires you to see your value as a human being, a unique individual whom God knows and adores. It requires you to love your body in Truth; by saving it for your spouse, not doing with it what you wish.

Jordan
Those are excellent words Jordan. I rationalized as well because of what my exboyfriend had done for me (helping me get out of abusive home). I am no longer with him. I may still be the same person, but Im no longer a virgin which I also highly regret as I now cannot give that honour to my husband. But in saying that, I feel clean again as I was truly repentant when I asked God for forgiveness and I believe it was given to me. So now Im starting afresh. I know it will be very hard but its all about environmental preparation lol and reassessing some old sinful habits and making changes.
I now see celibacy as honouring God as my spiritual husband. Leaving that path would be like committing adultery.

I used to be HARDCORE into porn. God saved me from that. Praise the lord. but I still wonder what God's stance on masturbation is. I have never got a clear answer on that. I will have to look that up on here tomorrow when I have some time.

I also wonder the same, I can never get a clear answer. in some translations they said it was but than those were proven wrong as well. here is a site that trys to clear it up http://www.acts17-11.com/dialogs_masturbation.html now I do know that if you are thinking about someone well masturbating that is a sin right there, called lust. so you need to watch, best scenario is to just stay away from it.

Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

Does masturbation GLORIFY God with your body?

My sentiments exactly. Hot, sticky, fumbly, sweaty, tiring...

The best thing about sex is the cigarette afterwards.

I don't know anyone who thinks smoking is intrinsically sinful.

So what about not harming the temple of God? Smoking is proved to cause cancer, that would be considered harming the temple of God, would it not?

That verse is always cited out of context; St Paul is referring to sexual immorality. 'Smoking' does not cause cancer any more than 'drinking' causes liver disease; it's the dose that makes the poison. So smoking in and of itself is not a sinful act, and I don't know anyone who actually does consider such.

Okay so you've just added something to the list, drinking is bad too. How many people do you know that just smoke because it's fun or they're bored? I don't know many. I don't know any actually.

Whore mongers and adulterars God shall judge...(So don't worry about other them look at your own purity)

2 Timothy 22Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strife's.

King James gets to the point, it's the best.

Drinking is not bad (this is ChristianChat, not MuslimChat, right?)

And smoking is not something I would describe as 'fun' rather just something enjoyable - a simple source of pleasure. Everyone I know who smokes does it because it's enjoyable. But what has any of this to do with whether or not smoking (and now drinking) is intrinsically sinful?

yes it is christian chat. But drinking can still be considered bad. Everyones argument for why drinking isn't bad was because well if Jesus drank wine than it can't be bad, which is a valid argument. Until you look back and see how much ridiculously lower the alcohol content in the wine was. Well everyone I know that smokes, hates it, and is trying to quit. It being (in your case enjoyable) doesnt have anything to do with it.
