People might disagree but I also posted "Yes" in answer to this question. Mentioning Jesus excessively, especially when talking to nonbelievers just serves to turn people off in my experience. Nonbelievers don't care. To them, Jesus was a man who founded the world's most popular religion and is now dead and gone so talking about it is pointless. They want evidence about what makes you believe in a God in the first place, let alone the Christian God. No matter how sincere a Christian is in their heart regarding this matter, they generally don't appear that way to the nonbeliever. Rather, they come off as fake or sometimes a bit disturbed. Even a Christian such as myself gets annoyed with this on occasion (especially street preachers who have no idea what they are talking about and/or preach hate in the name of Christ). But, once again, that is my opinion.

I like to talk about Jesus and not because I want to look religious or higly spiritual, I really enjoy talking about my faith (although if someone doesn't want to hear it or is not interested, I don't force it) . I don't know what you mean by too much though, I would say too much would be bringing up Jesus when you are talking about something completely unrelated and then you force it into the conversation on purpose just to show how religious you are. I can talk about movies, books, politics, tv shows, food, etc almost anything...but at the end almost all the time everything points to Jesus when I'm having long and deep conversations. Too much would be being unable to talk about daily life stuff just because ''those aren't godly things'', and I would see that as a prideful and arrogant attitude.

When it comes down to it, 'Christ'ianity is sorta' based around... well, Christ. Anything pertaining to Salvation, Grace, and sharing his love boomerangs back to Jesus. We don't have to mention his name for it to be about him.

Although I do agree that Jesus' is overused in a forced sense and can make people a little anxious.

"Jesus loves you" for some people, "I want your babies" for others.

Much love, Dan.

We can talk about Jesus till we are blue in the face to someone, but are we showing Jesus's love to everyone? If someone doesn't see love in you and you identify yourself with Christ, why would they care about anything you say about Him? People see how Christ has changed you and how you treat others, and that light makes them want what you have. If we are complaining, arguing, gossipping, and acting worldly no one will come to Jesus. Our attempts to show Jesus's love speak louder than words. I am not perfect by any means and have a long way still to go in my sanctification process. But the more I let Jesus live through me, it shows His glory and the seeds for His kingdom are growing. This world is hurting and they need to be shown more love, and less condemnation.

Do you think there is such a thing as talking about Jesus too much?
Do you think EVERYTHING should be about him?
Or is he more like a tradition and people that talk about Him too much just get on your nerves?

Just curious on what you guys think...
Honestly...

I think that you CAN talk about Jesus way too much.

I love Jesus with all of my heart, but I'm not gonna talk about Him and think about Him every single second of the day. Just like anything else in your life. You probably don't wanna talk about this or that or think about this or that constantly. It gets old, boring, and just annoying sometimes. I definitely say there's a balance. There's a time to talk about Jesus, and there's a time to just talk about other things and have fun. :)

I don't think there's such thing as talking about Jesus to much, but I do feel there is a thing such as talking to the wrong person, to sound forceful, judgement, and even a bit weird lol!

Here's my mentality:

If you're discussing something like a cake or cookie recipe with someone, would it make sense to just pipe up something about Jesus like something along the lines of, "Taste and see that the Lord is good.?" though that's not too far off, it's really not relevant during that time. You're trying to discuss how to make a pastry, not theology or Jesus. That's what I'd call overkill.

Or if you're talking about something like going camping and what you do during your camping trip, would it make much sense to talk about something Jesus said or did?

Before I accepted Jesus I had a friend who I used to talk with a lot and after I found Jesus I couldn't help but mention him or God in every conversation and now he doesn't seem to want to talk to me about anything even if I try to talk to him.

There is a line i would say. If your constantly talking about Jesus you force people away from you and make christianity look bad.

Plain and simple.

All I am physically, mentally, spiritually, every small part of me, every thing that has ever and will every be me is his. From all I have done and will do in my life to the first skin cell to have ever fallen from me in the first minute of my life, I am completely and utterly his! This is a fact I rejoice in and would gladly tell the whole world if I could. I wish to praise Jesus through everything I do and speaking is one of those things. There may be some who hate it but than again there will always be people wanting to push Jesus away to the point where they don't have to think about him but that's just this sinful world for ya'.

"Too much" is a bit nebulous. What is too much amongst strangers may be not much in a meeting of christians. (But even one mention in a group of atheists is too much.)

If you can keep a lid on it out in public, I think people will cut you all the slack you need in church.

Sorry if this offends anyone. It is just that talking politics and religion in public is frowned upon in our culture.

It all depends on who you are talking to. Are you talking to a non-believer, a fellow Christian, God? Most of the people around me are not that religous so I don't talk to them about my Faith unless they ask me (which often happens ^.^ ) I like my actions to speak for me and then people come to me and ask me certain things and I explain to them what/why I believe. It's people around me find it insightful and they respect me as a Christian because I don't force my Faith onto them and they actually are interested in what I have to say when they ask me questions and then they can ponder over what we discussed. I'm really blessed to have these people in my life and blessed to be in theirs <3

When someone talks about jesus and absolutely nothing else *not meaning a preacher or priest* it cant get annoying anyone talking about one thing too much in general can get annoying. When I hear someone talking about world of warcraft, football, or jesus too much they all will just sound like white noise.

You know what. Be who you are. If your not trying to impress people with your Jesus knowledge, then say it whenever you want. Be true to yourself and who God called you to be. When you're in love, you say that persons name all the time. The issue is measurd by your heart, not the
number of times you can rack up.

A person can't talk about Jesus too much. I mean, it depends for what cause, but Jesus deserves that kind of praise; He's done too much for us, and still today He is acting in our lives! Be Safe, Be Fresh, Be like Jesus! EnaGoguette, AKA God's Girl! PEACE!:)
