So I'm a 17 y/o teen christian girl and recently I've been trying to extract myself from our hyper-sexualised society and focus on serving God. Thinking about marriage and purity I just wondered if there are any other late teens out there pursuing the same thing.

GIRLS- How hard do you find it in today's to stay focused on God and his standards? Any tips/advice that helps you?

GUYS- Same question as above but also are there any teen guys who are still waiting and remaining pure for their wives as well as actively pursuing God? It seems like us girls are the only ones waiting (I might be wrong!)

Thanks!

Not trying to toot my own horn, but I have made it a priority to wait! In the world we live in today it
is becoming less 'normal' to wait and I feel as though young people are laughed at for being virgins.
Living for God is the best thing you can do, just wait and let Him bring the right one along.

He :) As above; I think it's important to wait. We have to keep ourselves clean for 1) our God 2) our possible future husbands :) Altho it is rlly difficult :/
How do you guys think about flirting? (I never use that word for it, but I think that's the best way to describe that ;P)
And Tam, I'll pray for ya, God will give us all strenght!

Personally I think flirting is a nono. I speak as someone who used to try and master it but now I see it for it's true nature. It's a form of deception and manipulation and seduction- it it's most "innocent" form. But that's the thing- it's a slippery slope. If you're honestly pursuing God you have no business trying to "get to know" your BROTHERS IN CHRIST in that way. It is exactly what paul was saying when he was like we need to flee from sexual immorality- not a HINT should be founf within us. Flirting hints at immorality plus it says a lot about the flirtee- self esteem, respect, relationship with God.
Proverbs 31:3 and Songs of Solomon 8:4

And Obvs- what would Jesus do? ;D

There is really nothing to add in here! except the fact that I (probably you guys too) think that waiting until marriadge is good. But it is supposed to do with a mind that Wants to pursue God's will and Wants to wait, not because it is "mandatory" or because you are afraid of the sin. Wait with a peaceful heart, right? These were my thoughts. And because our world is currently so sex-orientated I would like to ask if anyone can share some strenghtening to the people who are struggling with urges?

Purity is the best gift that you can give to your husband. So yah, I pursue purity. First, Because God told me so and second is for my future husband. I have always been reminded of Davids prayer that made him say no to impurities and it really helped me a lot I forgot what verse it is but it goes like this "Create in me a pure heart" so whenever there are toxic things approaching me I would pray that and by God's Grace, He still is keeping me and will always be. =)

Hi, I find my circle of friends have reduced as I keep away from people who do not share the same values as I do, I feel this is well for me the best way. I go to a very mixed school and often find myself as being a little odd or strange but i am strong in my beliefs.. Stay true to the Bible and true friends.
