So I was talking to my mom about considering becoming a vegetarian and she told me it is a sin.
I think this would be wrong and isn't a sin by any means but she keeps saying it is a sin. Shes say God put this stuff on Earth for us and to deny anything he gifted us with is denying Him. Their are so many things I could say about that. God put plants here, doesn't mean we have to eat them. Frankly, plants probably taste gross lol. Please help with this and scriptures would be great! Thank you all.

There is nothing sinful about being a vegetarian. Your mom is mistaken.

Don't go telling your mom shes wrong or it's just going to start a fight. Unless you know she will listen to you.
But yeah thats not a sin. Whenever someone tells me somethings wrong I ask them where God said it was wrong

Honor your mother but use this as an opportunity to look into the scriptures together.

Vegetarianism might not work out too well for you then.

Other than that, I would say that in order to stay healthy as a vegetarian you need to eat a much broader range than you otherwise would. So it's pretty tough. (Not that I know from experience, but I did look into it once when I was curious.)

I dropped meat for lent. It was only challenging at first. Once you make the adjustment it is not so bad

Eating lent definitely can't be good for you. It would save you a lot of money though.

Hello! I just wanted to say that I don't think its wrong. But do keep in mind that in Acts, God gave Peter a vision with all kinds of foods that Jews are not allowed to eat and told him to kill and eat. When Peter said "Surely not, Lord!" God answered him (this isn't an exact quote) "Don't call anything the Lord has made unclean."

This dream was not meant literally either as the unclean foods represented the Gentile that knocked on the door after the dream.

Let me tell you what a sin is friend.... A sin is not simply killing, stealing, hating, etc. Sin is disobeying GOD's word and not doing as He says. Now if God told us that we should eat meat and never to go on a vegetable diet then we are not to then. Tell your mom friend where does it say in the bible not to become a vegetarian? I think it might be a religious thing but that is not what God wants from us. Plus on top of that Jesus did say what goes into the body does not deifile a person because it leaves the body (bathroom yay you know what I mean). And another thing did we not start off not eating meat.
