Okay I'm curious to know what yall all look for in a guy or girl?
Spiritually, emotionally, physically?
This can be just as dating since some of us are so young but Ima do mine what I want in a future husband.
Okay I'll go first I guess..lol.

Well I'm 17, so 17-20
I'm almost 5'8 so tall is good, at least 5'9 I mean come on.
Most everybody says looks don't matter when they really do to that person.
But I can honestly say that don't matter to me.
As long as a guy is clean & smells good and doesn't have a personality of a stick.
I've never dated a guy who was in church.
& I'm not looking to date around anymore.
I'm ready to grow-up and settle down, so only church guys from now on.
cause when you're in church & you're dating someone who isn't..it doesn't turn out good.
makes me laugh, can deal with my sarcasm, spastic moments and corny jokes.
protective, loyal, loving, manly, serious but laid back.
someone who is constantly growing in their relationship with God, just like me, and we can grow together.
someone who doesn't ever think that he would have it better with someone else.
someone who can be my best friend, someone who will let me take care of them like a wife should take care of her husband. And who'd take care of me like a man is supposed to take care of his wife.

wow long :/
we did this on a Christian website I'm a part of and it was alotta fun.

okay my friend i guess you could say (old teacher) says I need to correct myself..it doesn't matter how old they are cause she's 4 years older than her husband!!but seriously I wouldn't date someone that much younger unless we we're in our 20's.but I just turned 17 so i shouldn't worry bout that right now.Just let it find me. Let God's Will work in my life...Geez adults!!but she's right..it's all about who God has planned for us.really I just wanted to get some more conversations started with yall :)

I have stopped dating for now. It brought me no good. But when I do start again, I really want a strong wife. I plan to be a youth pastor, and I need a strong wife for that. Honestly, looks really don't matter, and I'm not trying to say that to sound impressive, I'm being honest. Although, they do have to have a bizare sense of humor, just so they can get mine, lol. They obviously have to be a christian. I look forward to the days that I can grow WITH my wife. But, yeah. I think that answers the question?

In another thread I wrote:
I'm not looking for a girlfriend, but if I ever decided to get into that courting game, my ideal list would look something like this:

1. Christian, preferably of a High Church orientation or Catholic.
2. Fit
3. Smoker, or someone who otherwise hasn't jumped on the anti-smoking bandwagon (basically if I married her I'd want to able to smoke in my own home).
4. Intelligent and independent, yet submissive.
5. I suppose it'd be nice if I got on with her as well.
I don't think I've changed my opinion.

Everything that my girlfriend happens to have XD

Spiritually- She has to be a Christian. She has to, to some extent, keep me in-check with God, and at the same time allow me to keep her in check. Denomination doesn't matter if there are no super-significant differences (like the difference between Baptist and Catholic or something lulz). I'd much rather he just be able to read and understand the word for herself, and be able to come to the same or similar conclusions as me instead of coming up with some far fetched opinion.

Physically- like the TC said, most people say looks don't' matter. Well, I'm not a liar XD Yes, looks matter to some extent. I would not even DREAM of dating someone that I thought looked bad. I don't want to look at my spouse every day for the rest of my life and say, "Wow... They are such an awesome person, but I'm not attracted to them physically at ALL!."

Of course, they don't have to be perfect. It's mostly the face/hair that matter IMO (body structure matters if it's VERY bad, but I'll take average). For my current girlfriend, I think I'm very fortunate that she looks as good as she does ^_^

Emotionally- There are two big "NO"s to me. A woman who is "in control," and a woman who is an emotional wreck.

For the emotional wreck- This includes girls who, during ALL times of the year, break down over the smallest things, get mad and overly jealous, and are likely to break up with you and want you back two days later. That is NOT marriage material right there. Heck, it's barely dating material (not that I do casual dating, all my dating is looking for a marriage partner ^_^)

For the "in control" part- I have NO problem with a woman who sees problems and points them out. However, when the woman takes charge of everything herself and doesn't take the advice of others, and attempts to dominate her husband, I will not allow it. I'm not naturally dominant, but I take charge when necessary. If there's a problem, I expect to have the final word. If it's a problem with ME, then I will be obligated to fix it, and I have no right to get mad at my future wife for pointing out my problems. However, if I have a problem and she attempts to FORCE a change on me, it's not a good idea. For example, if I'm spending too much time watching TV and she wants some attention, she should just let me know instead of storming into the living room, turning off the television, and yelling my head off XD

As far as other emotional details go, most of them don't matter much. I'd like her to be fun-loving and playful (that sounds way too much like a dog's description, but I have no other way to put it XD), because I normally sit there and don't do much, and I like it when my girl comes up with off-the-wall suggestions and has a great time doing stupid things =P

And, of course, I need commitment. I'm sure there are plenty of girls like that out there, but I will only love ONE, and the one I love will be the one who loves me back. No point in chasing a relationship that won't happen.

And like I said at the beginning- I am VERY lucky that my girlfriend not only passes these criteria, but actually exceeds them ^_^ <3 </sappiness>

I would have to agree with Caleb there. You can't rely on God alone. You must also have your own checklist before you fall for the first pretty face. I agree, that dating should be left to those older than 18. Also, they must be Christian. And, who wants to marry for looks? That leads to divorce becuase the looks don't last forever. Someone with strong morals will.

DING DING DING! Gravity kicks in eventually folks. The skin will droop. Her face won't look as pretty as it does when she is 80 I'll tell you that.
Thanks :)

Thank you very much.
