I would say so. There are angels. And they are extraterrestrial. So if God has made some extraterrestrials, could he have made others? And could they be in our galaxy?

I agree with you. Most people, when they hear the word extraterrestrial, they think about those ugly monsters from the movie Alien or about those thin creatures with big dark eyes. But, extraterrestrial can mean so many things, so I will also vote yes.

Also, when I think about extraterrestrial, I am more inclined to think about Stanley Kubrick`s movie Space Odissey or about Andrei Tarkovsky`s movie Solaris rather than others depictions of extraterrestrials that have already been done.

There is so much more that we dont see than do. There is too many legends about gods and beings coming from the heavens to discount it. It seems there has been more than a few pages removed from Genesis. I have no doubt that Yahweh is the one true God and Jesus is His Son. Vatican has quite an interest in ufos and astronomy. I think it will all be part of the big deception that will deceive even the elect.

Matthew 24:24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

I take it you believe the above verse means that it is possible to deceive the elect. I wonder if this is the case. Maybe it's possible to deceive some but not others? At any rate, even if the delusion were utterly convincing - once I saw some of the events in Revelation unfolding I'd try to wait at least 7 years before I took any "messiah" at his word.

Also, I've often wondered if it is possible that lower life forms exist on other planets - like bacteria, photosynthetic creatures, etc. And if there were photosynthetic creatures there'd likely be protozoa that would be more animal-like and would prey upon the photosynthetic creatures to keep them in check. In no time you'd have a whole ecosystem. So if you let one foot in the door for lower life forms it's fairly possible you'd have higher life forms.

Of course the Bible says angels don't marry, and the assumption then is they don't reproduce. And I understand that people have said that human beings are the crown of God's Creation, but even if this is true what about other animal life on other planets?

Sorry, I can't see that picture. So I'm not sure if you're joking. lol But in case you aren't, let's look at what extraterrestrial means: a being from beyond the earth's atmosphere

So since angels are technically extraterrestrial in at least some respect and they are God's creation, my question could better be put this way: why is the concept of any extraterrestrial in Heaven okay but any extraterrestrial in our universe or galaxy not okay?

Something like this, from Dr. Who.

Heaven isn't outer space, it's God's realm so
angels are NO aliens

I voted "Only lower life forms". I don't think anything with the breath of life (humans) or anything with blood (animals) exist on other planets. I could possibly see living forms of bacteria or "simple" plant life such as types of moss being on other planets, but that's it.

As Simona25 said in post #2, the word 'extraterrestrial' doesn't have to mean 'alien'! *thumbs up*

 Does every thread on this website have to have an anti-Catholic comment?

If there are extra-terrestrials and they have free will, then they are free to sin against God. Christ became a human so that members of humanity could be redeemed from guilt and its consequences. Who will save guilty extra-terrestrials?

Good point! Who saves the animals that die? Will they be resurrected, too? Or do they just stay dead? Do they have some form of intelligence? Sure! Many are very intelligent! See chimpanzees and dolphins. They also have their own personalities. They have dreams. They are everything that we are, save for a couple of possible exceptions.

Now who's to say that there aren't extraterrestrials in our universe who are as intelligent or perhaps a little less intelligent than we? Sure human beings are made in God's image, but what exactly that means has not been defined. A lot of people might think it is sentience, self-awareness, ability to grasp difficult concepts and a higher form of thought than animals. But I have never heard it explained. For example, don't angels have this form of sentience as well? Then what sets us apart from those extraterrestrials in Heaven? And what would set us apart from extraterrestrials elsewhere in our universe if we found them (other than the obvious)?
