so there are still dinosaurs around???
Probably. There is no way to prove extinction. Not unless someone is all places at all times. There's sightings of dinosaurlike creatures in lakes and rivers, along with remote parts of the jungle in Africa. The natives call it Mokele m'bembe. Google it, interesting stuff.

A question arises. If there had been dinosaurs around some time in the human history... why are there no paintings or texts about them? I mean, they are gigantic meat-eating machines, would be pretty hard to ignore them, wouldn't it?

Well, ever thought about the possibility that it might just be a parable are that not the facts count but the content?
Of course I have. But there is no reason to read the bible that way. The text itself certainly suggests that it is real history. No one in the bible considers the book of genesis to be just parables. That idea can't be found in the bible.

If the earth would be only 6000 years old, we would only see stars in a distance of 6000 lightyears, because otherwise the light wouldn't have reached earth. Hubble telescope made a picture of a star 3 BILLION lightyears away. Explain that. And don't come with "god beamed the photons nearer to earth so we can see something when we look up at night".
Don't worry, I won't. The point is this. Secular cosmology claims there are no special places in the universe: no centre, no edge. But that is just an assumption, it's not based on observations. Reading the bible, there is no reason for this assumption to be true. From observations, you could just as easily conclude that the Earth is near the centre of the universe. That is actually the most logical conclusion. And if that is the case, then we are in a so called gravity well. If God created the universe smaller than it is now (which is confirmed by observations) and then stretched it (which the bible suggests, although I am aware of the fact that the bible is not a scientifical book) and you combine this with the theory of relativity, then it is very well possible, that when only one week of time passed here on earth during the creation week, in deep space processes that normally take billions of years took place, including the light of distant stars travelling to earth.

I assume you believe in the big bang. Are you aware of the fact that big bang theory has a lightspeed problem itself?

I do not believe in the big bang theory. Too many loopholes in flaws. Right now I believe that god maybe created the universe in seven steps, not in seven days. God is eternal and allmighty. Why should he use a certain timeframe? The "seven days" thing is just a metaphor to explain it to us failable humans. If he would show up nowadays, he would probably explain it differently. But he had to make sure everybody understands, and people weren't exactly "educated" back in the days.

There are everywhere. Paintings have been found inside the grand canyon, for example and in all sorts of written history. Not all dinosaurs were gigantic or meat-eating. You're making false assumptions due to your humanistic worldview.

lol you should read the Bible..

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Ex 20:10-11 (KJV)

The word yom there means day a 24 hour day, not a step. What you say is linguistically impossible. Not only do you not know the Bible, you don't know Hebrew. As I said, you may want to read the Bible if you keep posting in these forums.

You may want to understand the bible if you keep posting in these forums. Just as I said, the bible is the word of god, but he was talking to uneducated people who then gave it along in oral form until it was written down by some people only to be altered and edited a dozen times by the church. There were once not just 4 gospels but alot more (30-40), and the church chose it's favourite ones (the ones that would fit best into the church, not the most reliable of cause). Even the ten commandments were altered!
And you tell me something is "lingustically impossible"? You better be joking.

Why? The bible speaks of six days.

Why should he use a certain timeframe?
Because He felt like it, I guess. And since He said He did, I have no reason to doubt it, because God can't lie.

people weren't exactly "educated" back in the days.
Why do you think that? The facts tell a different story.

I also suggest you read more about creation science, because there's a lot you don't know.
www.answersingenesis.org is a very good website.

I think its save to say that the rates of analphabets was a "little" higher then today. Like 100%.

But you don't seem to understand what this is all about.
You guys have lost the faith in god a long time ago. You are just moving, soulless shells who never used the brain god gave you. I feel sorry for your misguided souls. May god be merciful on you.

I am done with this forum.

Come on, Bruder, don't be too harsh...

I think it's good to discuss these controversial topics about how the bible should be understood, also in scientifical contexts.
But in the end it's our faith in Jesus Christ that matters.

Nonetheless, we surely should use our brains, but most of us are no scientists. And as a layman, as to science, you can only
work with theories of other people. And these theories change. And people make mistakes.

That's just weak. Why don't you use the brain God gave you to refute the things I said? Is it because you can't?

you can't expect everyone to agree with you always, if you do, how will you ever survive the real world?
I get both questions and harrasment about one out of three times i tell anyone online that I'm christian, but that doesn't keep me from visiting discussion forums.

Sorry, that was a weak remark. I just can't stand it when someone who doesn't know me at all tells me that I don't use my brain, without giving any arguments...
