I didn't really know which forum to put this in...

I was at church last Sunday and heard a testimony from a woman who said,

"I used to 'christian-ize' my lifestyle of sin by calling it 'struggling.' In the bible, Jacob 'wrestled' for 4 hours. I've been 'wrestling' with sin for 4 years. When 'wrestling' lasts 4 years it isn't wrestling, it is direct disobedience."

This just kind of slapped me in the face... to alot of things I, and my friends, 'christianize.' And how... we try to make one another feel better by saying 'oh its ok thats just your personal struggle.'

Not that its bad to try to be supportive but.. I think that often times we, or our friends, are being blatantly disobedient.. and maybe sharing it because we feel guilty and want to hear that confirmation.

I know that I look for that sometimes when I feel convicted but, I think sometimes someone just needs to say to me "You're being disobedient and you need to get your act together now."

I don't know if anyone else needed it or not... thought I'd share it just in case because it really spoke to me.
