What about the moral dilemma everyone is missing??
If starving yourself under everyday circumstances is self-harm, and the human remains is a food source... maybe we have an ethical obligation to the body that God has given us to ahh ahh ahh ahh stayin alive stayin alive..... on human flesh ;)

If God was our provider for food, there'd be no need to eat someone. I think i'd eat grass or hunt for small game or insects before resorting to eating another human being. I don't think God would want us to be concerned with this, much less to be acting upon such nonsense.

Ah Rickyz Why so serious? The post wasn't about something biblically unethical. She didn't ask if it was ok to kill someone to survive, merely eat a deceased person. Yeah, its far, sure.

But consider something that is actually spoken about in scripture: Abraham Isaac and Jacob didn't have a problem with incest... no one did until God said not to at mt Siani, and incest became something that God laid down ethical guidelines for. Today incest is as traditionally repugnant as it is biblically unethical, but lets not pretend they amount to the same thing.
Probably best not to pretend pretend your tradition is biblical ethics because unless I've missed it, God hasn't said anything to date about the subject.

Wow I got all serious on a fun thread. Must be late or something.
Blessings,

Argh, and now i owe you an apology.

.... Romans 14 says If it is evil to you, it is evil to you (not necessarily evil to God, but that's ok) - If my eating human flesh causes a brother to stumble I shall do so in private. Just remember that one swings both ways. I shouldn't cause a brother to stumble, nor should a brother judge me where God doesn't judge. But it's a journey for all of us.

And just another biblical point, if 1 Corinthians 8 tells me we can eat food even offered to idols as long as we give thanks to the Lord, surely we can eat anything. Again the onus is on the person acting in their freedom, i.e. the person in this case willing to eat human flesh - so I shouldn't flaunt what my brother considers evil in my freedom.

My apologies in the Lord. I was having fun, but I will try and keep it to myself and others of a similar humor.

Blessings,

No foul, you didn't cause me to stumble. I just don't see the humor in this. Maybe I'm just an old stick in the mud. But really, potty humor - you have to expect some are not going to care for it. It's kind of a crappy thing to joke about.

Oh look there I just joined in!
